About the Role
A strategic and hands-on leader, the Manager, Brand Design plays a pivotal role expressing Equip's brand identity through business-driving visual storytelling. This role will be a multi-disciplinary design professional who provides creative leadership across all brand touchpoints and audiences, from website and emails to print and event collateral.
Directly supporting the Head of Creative, this role is responsible for ensuring visual excellence and strategic alignment with business goals. This is a player-coach role in which you will execute top-tier creative while also leading a small team of designers, providing mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback to help them grow and deliver their best work. This role requires a strong balance of strategic thinking, hands-on design expertise, and empathetic leadership.
Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Execution
Support the Head of Creative in shaping Equip’s visual brand through concepting, storyboarding, photo and video shoot direction.
Take full ownership of large-scale design projects, prioritizing multiple high-visibility assignments across digital and print, including emails, social media, landing pages, paid media, presentations, sales enablement, and more.
Translate complex business needs and marketing strategies into high-impact, elegant design solutions that are aligned with company goals.
Design net new templates and layouts and train others on implementation.
Take full ownership of assigned projects, ensuring timely and high-quality execution with minimal oversight.
Support the development and maintenance of Equip’s visual brand and style systems, including design guidelines for websites, email campaigns, social media, and other key channels.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Collaborate and build relationships across departments to ensure smooth, strategically aligned output and efficient workflows.
Present and explain design concepts clearly, incorporating feedback and balancing multiple viewpoints.
Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and lead a small team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide clear guidance and feedback on all design projects to ensure all design work meets a high standard of quality and strategic alignment.
Provide regular coaching to direct reports, supporting their professional development and career growth.
Implement and refine design processes to improve the quality of final deliverables.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
8+ years of professional marketing design experience, with at least 2+ years in a management role overseeing other designers.
A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative and art direction skills across a range of digital and print media, with a focus on brand identity, website design, and design systems.
Proven experience in managing and mentoring a design team, providing clear and actionable feedback.
Deep expertise in brand design, art direction, and digital design, with a solid understanding of how to build and maintain scalable brand systems.
Advanced proficiency in Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management tools like Asana.
Familiarity with best practices for creating accessible and responsive digital experiences.

Physical Demands
Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
