We seek a strategic and technically skilled Manager to lead our Business Intelligence (BI) Developers and Quality Assurance (QA) professionals. Reporting into the Data & Analytics leadership team, this role will oversee the delivery, support, and quality of BI solutions across the organization. The Manager will drive operational excellence, foster a culture of innovation and accountability, and work closely with the BI Lead to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Manage and mentor a team of BI and QA Engineers, providing technical guidance, professional development, and performance feedback.
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of Power BI dashboards, tabular models, and analytics products.
- Ensure the QA function maintains high standards in requirements traceability, data and reporting standards validation, regression testing, and automation across BI solutions.
- Collaborate with the BI Lead to prioritize backlog items, resolve technical blockers, and maintain alignment with business stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce best practices in code versioning, peer reviews, governance, and documentation standards.
- Monitor production systems and lead incident response efforts to quickly address data issues, performance degradation, or report failures.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure the BI ecosystem is compliant, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead roadmap planning for BI platform enhancements and automation initiatives to drive efficiency and innovation.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and team structure planning to scale BI delivery capacity as business needs evolve.
- Promote a continuous improvement mindset, encouraging cross-team collaboration and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ensure all development work adheres to compliance and data governance requirements, including data access control and auditability.
We want you to join our team! Here's what we're looking for:
Knowledge, skills, and other qualifications required:- 8+ years of experience in BI development or data engineering, including 3+ years in a managerial or team lead capacity.
- Deep technical expertise in Power BI, DAX, SQL, and AAS/SSAS tabular models. Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure BI stack is highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing QA practices, including manual and automated testing frameworks in data/BI environments.
- Strong understanding of security best practices, including role-based access, least privilege principles, and audit tracking.
- Experience building and leading high-performing, distributed teams, with a focus on coaching and people development.
- Effective project management skills with the ability to prioritize, schedule, and track multiple initiatives in parallel.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, focusing on translating technical work into business value.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in Power BI, Azure, or QA frameworks are a plus.
