The Machinist I - Hydro Bench is responsible for cleaning and preparing parts by removing irregularities and ensuring quality through hand and power tools.
Position Summary
The entry level Bench/Hydro role is responsible for removing irregularities, surplus metal-ragged edges, burrs, etc., from parts.
Principal Activities
- Prepare for and test subject parts to varying pressures
- Remove burrs, fins, core wire, sand, and irregularities from unmachined surfaces of various parts by filing, grinding
- Clean/wash parts
- Use hand and power grinders, scrapers, files, buffing equipment, vibratory tumbling machine, and media
- High pressure washer, holding, and clamping devices, wrenches, pressure gages, water, air, sealing solutions, hoist-operated cranes, and other lifting equipment
- Utilize multi-function electric or air-crane (where available) to lift, move, load, and unload parts to perform work center functions
- Properly fill out all paperwork and keep good housekeeping
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Required to follow written and verbal instructions
- Self-driven and able to self-manage
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Lift, pull, push. Continuously, walk/move from one machine to as many as three
- Physically, load and unload parts
Education & Experience
- 1 - 3 years of manufacturing and/or machining experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
