This internship at PrizePicks offers students the opportunity to work with the Machine Learning Engineering team to productionize real-time priced markets within the product. Ideal candidates have a strong technical background in computer science, computer engineering, or related fields, proficiency in Python and SQL, and a passion for sports analytics. Standout applicants will have experience with lower-level programming languages such as Rust, cloud infrastructure and continuous deployment (GCP), SQL/NoSQL databases/warehouses, MLOps, and demonstrated success in open-source projects.

What you'll do:

  • Learn from the PrizePicks Machine Learning Engineering team on how we approach data, scalability, performance, and MLOps challenges.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of optimal sport data stream architecture, ensuring data reliability in both speed and quality for data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with our Data Science team to determine best paths for operationalization of DS/ML assets, ensuring model output quality, stability, and scalability.

What you have:

  • Strong computer science/engineering background. Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems or other quantitative field
  • Strong coding skills - Python, SQL.
  • Demonstrable history of building robust data-intensive applications
  • Interest in sports and fantasy sports markets.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience with lower-level programming languages - Rust, Java, C++.
  • Demonstrable background/coursework building data pipelines and/or machine learning applications from scratch.
  • Success in open-source projects
  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and collaboration experience with organizational technical and non-technical teams
Where you’ll live:
  • This is a hybrid position based at our PrizePicks headquarters in West Midtown Atlanta, with in-office work a minimum of 3 days per week. #LI-Hybrid

The typical salary range for this position is $35.00/hr - $38.00/hr. At PrizePicks, we consider your role, level, and where you'll be working when determining our salary ranges. The compensation info you see on our job postings gives you an idea of the starting pay range for the position. Your actual pay within that range will depend on your specific work location, as well as your skills, experience, and education.
