Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Intern to join our Mergers & Acquisitions team. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions within the energy industry. You will work closely with experienced professionals to support transaction analysis, market research, financial modeling, and due diligence efforts.
Responsibilities
Assist in evaluating M&A opportunities by conducting industry research, financial analysis, and competitive benchmarking
Build and maintain financial models (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions)
Support due diligence processes, including data room management and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
Prepare presentation materials for internal investment committees and senior leadership
Analyze trends in the energy markets and assess their impact on acquisition strategies
Collaborate across functions including Finance, Strategy, Legal, and Operations
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in finance or accounting
Desired Qualifications
Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
familiarity with financial modeling is preferred
Interest in the energy sector and corporate strategy
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
Prior internship or academic experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance
Have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher
Working Conditions
This position is located in Charlotte, NC or may be remote
10 to 15 hours per week
