Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Intern to join our Mergers & Acquisitions team. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions within the energy industry. You will work closely with experienced professionals to support transaction analysis, market research, financial modeling, and due diligence efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating M&A opportunities by conducting industry research, financial analysis, and competitive benchmarking

  • Build and maintain financial models (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions)

  • Support due diligence processes, including data room management and coordination with internal and external stakeholders

  • Prepare presentation materials for internal investment committees and senior leadership

  • Analyze trends in the energy markets and assess their impact on acquisition strategies

  • Collaborate across functions including Finance, Strategy, Legal, and Operations

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in finance or accounting

Desired Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

  • familiarity with financial modeling is preferred

  • Interest in the energy sector and corporate strategy

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

  • Prior internship or academic experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance

  • Have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher

Working Conditions

  • This position is located in Charlotte, NC or may be remote

  • 10 to 15 hours per week
