About the Role
Biz2Credit seeks a commercial litigation attorney with experience in breach of contract and creditor's rights matters. This position requires a highly motivated and organized individual with at least 5 years of litigation experience. New York or New Jersey license is required. This is a full-time position offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities

  • Strategically lead and manage litigation matters, ranging from pre-litigation disputes through litigation and judgment enforcement efforts, and advise on strategy and resolution of matters.
  • Liaise with outside counsel on litigation and settlement strategy in pending matters and provide updates to key internal stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement and manage the litigation strategy for all material litigations.
  • Be responsible for developing and accessing case strategies, handling discovery requests and third-party subpoenas and reviewing court filings.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams to mitigate litigation risk and to ensure compliance with litigation and regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborate with external counsel to efficiently manage all aspects of litigation.
  • Negotiating and settling cases in the pre-litigation stage
  • Review policies, claims and other records.
  • Manage docket of cases according to office policy
  • Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.


Education and Experience

  • JD from a recognized US Law School. Qualification to practice law and membership in good standing in the bar of at least one state (NY or NJ preferred).
  • 5+ years of litigation experience post law school in a top law firm or in-house at a financial institution.
