Job Responsibilities

Responsible for leveraging effective communications skills plus knowledge of digital communications platforms to optimize user activation, engagement, and usage of Learning A-Z products and services. This role is crucial in developing and executing effective communication strategies that engage our customers throughout their journey with our products, from acquisition to renewal. The ideal candidate will understand customer lifecycle stages deeply and be skilled in crafting targeted messaging that enhances customer experience and drives retention.

Uniquely responsible for creating and deploying customer communications via outbound email, email nurture flows, or within our product user interfaces (e.g., via a platform such as Intercom) to keep LAZ customers informed and engaged while using our products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement comprehensive communication strategies tailored to each customer lifecycle stage, from onboarding to retention.
  • Write and design engaging content for various channels, ensuring brand voice and messaging consistency.
  • Analyze data to identify segments and tailor communications that resonate with different audiences based on their behaviors and preferences.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor the effectiveness of lifecycle communications tactics, adjusting strategies to improve performance as needed.
  • Utilize marketing automation tools and in-app communication platforms to streamline communication processes and enhance customer engagement through timely and relevant messaging.
  • Conduct A/B tests to optimize content and delivery methods, using insights to refine strategies and improve overall performance.
  • Work closely with product marketing, product management, and customer support teams to keep customers informed of feature releases and product enhancements while staying aligned on messaging across various platforms to reinforce key value propositions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Human Resources, Education, or a related field is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in customer marketing or equivalent professional communications experience
  • Experience in K-6 education or edtech is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to connect with the K-6 educator or classroom teacher is essential
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with emphasis on simplicity, clarity, and audience-appropriateness, including translating complex, technical information into audience-appropriate messaging
  • Familiarity with building communications content for various marketing automation platforms (e.g. Pardot) and in-application platforms (e.g. Intercom)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize work, adhere to deadlines, and ensure proper buy-in from stakeholders
