About Us
Health is the most important thing in life, and the American healthcare system is completely broken - poor outcomes, high cost, bad patient experience. We're building a new system from the ground up.

Our mission is to improve people’s health by making it easy to live a healthy lifestyle.

Nourish is the country's largest dietitian-led metabolic health clinic. We’re an AI-native digital health system matching patients with 10,000+ Registered Dietitians, physicians, medications, lab testing, and AI agents to deliver insurance-covered care across all 50 states. Founded four years ago, we've completed millions of appointments, tripled year-over-year, and partnered with health plans covering 200M+ Americans across 250+ health systems.

In 2026 we raised a $100M Series C, bringing total funding to $215M. The round was led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from Thrive Capital, Index Ventures, J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners, Maverick Ventures, Y Combinator, BoxGroup, Atomico, Daybreak, and Operator Partners.

This is not a job for everyone. We hold an extremely high bar because we believe talent density is our biggest competitive advantage. We're looking for people who actively choose hard, ambiguous problems, who run toward unglamorous work, give and receive candid feedback, and bring relentless resilience without the ego. Our work is important, but we are not self-important. We do this because we’re solving one of the hardest problems in the world, and the problem matters. If that's you, we disproportionately reward it.

About the Role

Reporting directly to our Senior Manager, Provider Network Strategy, the Licensing Lead will own day-to-day execution for our Licensing New Bets pod. You will translate licensing strategy into a clear operating plan, and oversee the virtual-assistant capacity supporting your workflows.

Licensing is an upstream driver of provider supply, credentialing, and risk reduction. You will build scalable licensing workflows for new provider types, bring work in-house where appropriate, improve speed and provider experience, and ensure accurate, compliant execution as Nourish grows toward 25,000+ providers.

This role is full-time and open to NYC-based or remote candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, and support a pod of New Bets Licensing Associates or Senior Associates, setting priorities, clarifying ownership and deadlines, reviewing work quality, giving direct feedback, and holding the team accountable for outcomes.
  • Direct virtual-assistant capacity supporting licensing workflows, including work allocation, training, quality assurance, and performance monitoring.
  • Own complex licensing programs end to end, from state and provider-type requirements research through provider instructions, application submission, status tracking, issue resolution, renewals, and reporting.
  • Build and maintain clear SOPs, operating cadences, quality controls, documentation standards, escalation paths, and audit-ready records for new and existing licensing workflows.
  • Use metrics to manage capacity, throughput, timeliness, quality, provider experience, and execution risk; identify gaps early and lead practical improvement plans.
  • Investigate ambiguous state-board, provider, or operational issues using data and primary sources; make sound tradeoffs across speed, compliance, provider experience, business impact, and cost.
  • Design scalable workflows and recommend tooling, automation, and ownership improvements in partnership with Credentialing, Product, Engineering, Payer Ops, Finance, RCM, Clinical Ops, and Customer Experience.
  • Evaluate where work should be brought in-house or supported by external partners, then implement the operating model and controls required for reliable execution.
  • Serve as the day-to-day escalation point for the area you own, resolving blockers independently and escalating material risks with clear recommendations.
  • Communicate decisions, owners, deadlines, risks, and next steps clearly to team members, leaders, providers, state boards, external partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Build team capability by coaching associates into stronger owners and future leaders while ensuring reliable delivery against goals.
We’d love to hear from you if:
  • You have approximately 5–9 years of experience in provider licensing, provider operations, healthcare operations, or a closely related field.
  • You have meaningful licensing domain depth, including state licensing requirements, application and renewal processes for Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, and Therapists.
  • You have demonstrated people-leadership experience, including setting priorities, directing work, giving feedback, managing performance, and developing team members.
  • You have owned complex operational programs with rigorous quality, compliance, documentation, and deadline requirements.
  • You use metrics to manage capacity, throughput, quality, timeliness, and execution risk.
  • You are a strong written and verbal communicator who can simplify complex regulatory or operational issues for different audiences.
  • You are tech-savvy and have experience improving processes through tooling, automation, or partnership with Product and Engineering.
  • You are flexible, adaptable, and effective in fast-changing conditions.
  • A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred but not required.
