Description

Bounce is hiring a Legal Recovery Manager to lead and scale our legal collections channel. One of the most consequential levers in our end-to-end recovery strategy. This role is responsible for overseeing Bounce's legal recovery operations, including attorney network management, litigation strategy, judgment enforcement, and regulatory compliance across our partner portfolios.

Reporting to the SVP of Recovery Operations, the Legal Recovery Manager will own the performance of Bounce's legal placements, drive strategy and analytics across the full legal lifecycle, and serve as the primary liaison between internal operations and our external law firm partners. This is an ideal role for a seasoned collections professional with deep legal recovery expertise who thrives at the intersection of strategy, compliance, and operational execution.

About Us

Bounce is a fintech startup revolutionizing debt management for consumers and creditors with our best-in-class product. By leveraging the power of AI and automation, we create user-friendly experiences that drive positive outcomes for all parties involved.

With a team based in Tel Aviv and New York, we have been growing rapidly, supporting hundreds of thousands of consumers on their journey to financial resilience and building partnerships with top creditors and fintech companies.

How You’ll Spend Your Time
  • Own end-to-end legal recovery strategy — from account placement and attorney onboarding through litigation management, judgment enforcement, and post-judgment collections — ensuring consistent, compliant, and high-performing outcomes across all partner portfolios.
  • Manage and develop relationships with external law firm partners and litigation vendors, including performance monitoring, SLA accountability, fee negotiation, and ongoing quality review.
  • Drive strategy development and continuous optimization of legal channel segmentation, placement decisioning, and recovery prioritization while leveraging data and analytics to maximize net recovery outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze legal recovery performance metrics including liquidation rates, cost-per-dollar-recovered, judgment conversion rates, and portfolio aging. Deliver regular reporting and actionable insights to senior leadership.
  • Ensure strict compliance with applicable federal and state laws governing legal collections, including FDCPA, UDAAP, Fair Lending, and state-specific litigation and garnishment rules; proactively identify and remediate compliance risks.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Compliance, Finance, Product, and Recovery Operations to support audit readiness, regulatory exams, and ongoing governance requirements for the legal recovery channel.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, controls, policies, and playbooks for all legal recovery processes.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for legal recovery strategy and execution.
  • Collaborate with the SVP of Recovery Operations and senior leadership on multi-year legal recovery roadmap development, benchmarking, and strategic planning.
  • Support RFP responses and partner onboarding efforts that involve legal recovery channel capabilities.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in legal collections, litigation recovery, or attorney network management within a financial services or fintech environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, legal studies, or a related field preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of the end-to-end legal collections lifecycle — including pre-litigation strategy, suit decisioning, judgment enforcement, garnishment, and dormant judgment recovery.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state collections regulations, including FDCPA, UDAAP, Fair Lending, and applicable state litigation and exemption laws.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external law firm and litigation vendor relationships, including performance management, cost oversight, and quality assurance.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret recovery data, build business cases, and drive strategy through insights (experience with SQL, Excel, or BI tools such as Metabase is a plus).
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex legal and compliance topics for operational and executive audiences.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management and process documentation skills.
  • Experience supporting regulated financial services environments, including participation in audits, regulatory exams, or second-line reviews, is strongly preferred.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range of $170,000-$200,000
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • 401K + 5% Match
  • Competitive PTO plan
  • Collaborative and innovative hybrid working environment
  • Opportunity to grow in your career with a growing company
