About FreshBooks
As a legal operations paralegal at FreshBooks, you will be the "mission control" for the legal department. You will serve as the central hub for all legal activity, managing the flow of information to our global legal partners. You will triage internal requests from all departments, analyze them, and route them to the appropriate external counsel. You will perform contract lifecycle management and proactively maintain corporate records to ensure the company is always in audit-ready shape.
Note: This role can be worked remotely from any of the locations above.
- Manage the legal ticketing system, serving as the first point of contact for all internal departments (Product, Sales, Engineering, Finance).
- Analyze incoming legal requests and route them to the appropriate external specialist counsel (e.g., US Regulatory, IP Counsel).
- Coordinate the collection and delivery of corporate documentation for critical banking and payment processor partners.
- Maintain a centralized, version-controlled library of licenses, disclosures, and filings related to Lending and Payroll products.
- Perform meticulous proofreading and initial reviews of vendor agreements, MSAs, and NDAs.
- Own the end-to-end e-signature process (e.g., Adobe Sign) and maintain a centralized repository of all executed agreements.
- Support corporate secretarial functions, including maintaining corporate records, state registrations, and board-related documentation across all jurisdictions.
- 4+ years of paralegal experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong familiarity with US Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), contracting principles, and corporate law.
- Exceptional attention to detail in legal proofreading and document versioning.
- Demonstrated experience handling highly sensitive corporate information with absolute confidentiality.
- A builder mindset with the ability to work autonomously as the sole internal legal resource.
- Technical proficiency with ticketing systems (Jira/Zendesk), e-signature platforms, and document management systems.
- In-house corporate experience at a Fintech or SaaS or technology company.
- Paralegal Certification by NALA
- Familiarity with financial regulations (e.g., KYC/AML, Lending disclosures).
