The summary above was generated by AI

We’re hiring a skilled content writer with journalism experience and a strong legal writing background to support a fast-growing legal tech startup. This is a unique opportunity to build a brand voice from the ground up—starting with a weekly newsletter, daily social posts, and SEO-focused blog content tailored for an attorney audience.

The ideal candidate knows how to write for lawyers in a way that feels fresh, insightful, and engaging—not dry or overly academic. If you’ve worked in legal media, legal tech, or marketing to attorneys, we’d love to meet you.

Scope and Duration
6 month initial contract - possibility of extension
45 hrs/month

What You’ll Do

This role blends content creation, voice development, and audience engagement. You’ll:

  • Write a weekly newsletter sharing founder updates, customer insights, product news, and behind-the-scenes stories—targeted at a growing audience of California attorneys
  • Create daily social media content, including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram posts that repurpose newsletter content and build brand presence
Develop ongoing website content, including SEO-optimized blogs that support long-term visibility and traffic
  • Help shape and document a distinct brand voice and content style guide
  • Conduct interviews with the founder(s) as needed to generate content ideas and storylines
(Bonus) Collaborate with the company’s SEO consultant to identify keyword opportunities and content angles
Who You Are

You’re a confident writer and strategic thinker who can bring energy to topics that others might make boring. You have:

  • Proven experience writing for a legal audience—whether in legal tech, journalism, or marketing
  • A journalistic voice and ability to craft content that feels personal, credible, and sharp
  • Solid understanding of content strategy, brand voice, and audience engagement
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices for blog and website content
  • Ability to work independently while welcoming feedback and collaboration
  • Excellent communication skills and an interest in working closely with founders
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience in legal tech and B2B content marketing
  • Light design experience (e.g. Canva, Figma) for social visuals
  • Experience helping early-stage startups define their content identity and voice
About the Client

The client is the co-founder of a legal tech startup based in San Francisco, serving thousands of attorneys across California. With a rapidly growing subscriber list and strong product-market fit, they’re now investing in brand visibility and content consistency. This is your chance to help shape how a company tells its story—and to build something meaningful from day one.
