Join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of others! We are looking for a Learning Experience Designer for our People & Culture team.

Must be willing to travel: This role is remote and requires occasional travel to any FreedomCare location nationally when necessary.

Department & Position Overview:

At FreedomCare we are committed to continuously developing our employees skills and supporting them in achieving their professional goals. The Learning Experience Designer will focus on creating best-in-class training to include: live remote and in-person training, and multimedia-rich asynchronous learning experiences that engage our employees and instill behavior change. The Instructional Designer will be a key thought partner as we develop content and build our training model from scratch.

Helpful Context:

The person who fills this position should thrive in an environment where ‘variety is the spice of life.’ We are looking for an experienced designer who can take a consultative approach with stakeholders to identify the root cause of a problem and design a solution that tackles it. The Learning Experience Designer we’re looking for should be able to also develop any training necessary to assist a solution’s measurable goal: courses, videos, audio, job aides, and  instructor-led facilitator guides. The ideal candidate should feel confident being an instructor when needed as well. Because of this, we are looking for a seasoned ID who has worked through all phases of ADDIE in a business setting. While we would love to hire and grow less experienced candidates who are eager to show their value, we are in the early stages of building up an experienced Learning & Talent Development Team that can then support more junior roles in the future. We understand job hunting and applying takes time, and we do not want to waste yours. We hope this transparency means you’ll consider revisiting our careers page in the future once additional roles are made available. Upon applying, we will be asking for a portfolio of work. If selected, we hope you’re excited to share details about your work in your portfolio as we get to know you and you get to know us.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholder(s) and SME(s) to identify learning objectives, gather requirements, define outcomes, and establish success metrics
  • Conduct needs analysis to ensure training addresses business requirements
  • Design (remote/live/blended/async) training solutions that meet business requirements and support adoption post launch - while considering ways to rapidly develop training to meet deadlines/deliverables
  • Develop informative, visually appealing and engaging training assets (often with tight deadlines) to include: robust courses, infographics, videos, tech click-throughs, job aids, practice activities, live presentations, multi-day curriculums, workshops, facilitator guides, and assessments
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training to identify areas of improvement during training and after launch using the appropriate Kirkpatrick Levels for evaluation
  • Create and update learning assets that support the retention, transfer, and application of knowledge and skills specific to roles, performance, culture, and outcomes
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and solicit feedback on all training programs and materials to understand response and effectiveness
  • Work with leaders and Learning & Development team to meet training delivery schedules, with appropriate resourcing that meet business needs

Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

Education

  • Education: Instructional Design BS or MS degree and/or formidable ID certification program

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of instructional design experience using adult learning principles and techniques
  • A portfolio highlighting work upon applying (and to discuss during the interview)
  • Strong recent experience in multi-day curriculum development, e-learning development, and multimedia content creation
  • Experience assessing learners skills and evaluating a training’s effectiveness over time and being able to report on the effectiveness across the business
  • Development: Experience with e-learning development tools (please reference tools you have advanced working knowledge of: Articulate Rise, Storyline, Camtasia, and specific multimedia programs in the Adobe Creative Suite or other)
  • Strong Experience with Sharepoint
  • Experience with multimedia development in audio and video
  • Experience working with an LMS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management, organization, and execution skills
  • Willingness to learn other roles to truly understand the business: to include speaking telephonically with our customers)
