Job Description:
The Operational Learning and Performance (OLP) team provides innovative and digital learning, quality, and knowledge management solutions to the Canadian Operations business lines. Our solutions are aligned with the overall strategy and vision for Canadian Operations and enable our business partners to provide client-centric service excellence.
Responsibilities:
Technical
- Proficient at implementing instructional design principles and standards that ensure consistency, flexibility, and sustainability of learning materials.
- Advanced knowledge and experience using curriculum design tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Connect–Virtual Room, SimWriter, Snagit, HTML 5, and SharePoint.
- Expert knowledge of modern adult learning techniques, instructional design, creative writing, and UX design to create interactive and effective learning platforms based on the complexity of project content.
- Expert ability in developing highly detailed design documents and storyboards using set templates.
- Execute a needs analysis with the business to determine the right solution is implemented to meet the desired outcomes.
- Complete voicing and editing for web-based modules.
- Ensure all components of design align with and support the program's learning objectives, desired outcomes, and program strategy.
- Provide effective knowledge testing throughout the programs using platforms such as quizzes, learning activities, knowledge checks, decision-based scenarios, and case studies.
Consulting
- You demonstrate teamwork, consultation, and professionalism when developing digital, engaging, and interactive learning solutions consisting of:
1) Web-based modules
2) Self-paced digital learning solutions
3) Virtual and in-person instructor-led training solutions - Build strong relationships with the OLP team and our business partners.
- Demonstrate solid influencing skills and consulting experience with the ability to be effectively persuasive without direct authority.
- Demonstrate decision-making skills regarding artistic vision of curriculum builds and how to transform content into engaging and interactive experiences for our learners.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree/Diploma/Certification in Adult Education and Instructional Design.
- 5+ years of instructional design experience.
- Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.
- Proven ability in writing concise, creative, and effective instructions for deliverables including storyboards/scripts, instructor and participant guides, and e-learning modules.
- High degree of initiative, self-organization, and self-management skills to work with minimal direction to effectively manage multiple activities while effectively responding to emerging challenges.
- Adaptable and resilient, able to manage complexity, comfortable working in ambiguous situations, flexible to handle a fast-paced environment, and easily adaptable to a variety of management styles.
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
