Lead Technical Product Managers within the CDO own the definition and delivery of complex, cross team digital experiences that are critical to Optum's consumer strategy. In this role, you will partner closely with business product managers, UX designers, engineers, architects, and fellow technical product managers to translate business priorities and user insights into well defined, outcome driven member experiences.
As a senior individual contributor, you will lead execution across multiple teams and systems, operate with a high degree of autonomy, and mentor other technical product managers. You will also champion AI accelerated product development and responsibly integrate AI into consumer experiences to improve speed, quality, and member outcomes.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

- Partner with business product and domain stakeholders to understand business objectives, user needs, and digital experience trends
- Translate insights into clearly articulated, outcome driven opportunities that align with business priorities and consumer value
Develop and support product roadmaps
- Collaborate with business product counterparts to articulate strategy, prioritize opportunities, and define multi quarter roadmaps
- Assess feasibility, dependencies, and costs to ensure roadmaps are executable and aligned with investment guardrails
Define executable experiences and enhancements
- Partner with UX, engineering, and architecture leaders to elaborate opportunities into clearly defined experiences, features, and enhancements
- Ensure requirements and success metrics are unambiguous, testable, and aligned to intended member outcomes
Technical fluency and solution partnership
- Partner closely with engineering and architecture leaders to understand end to end system flows, technical constraints, and solution options
- Evaluate technical alternatives, decompose complex problems into executable increments, and define requirements for dependent teams and systems
Drive successful execution
- Lead execution across multiple teams and platforms, sequencing work across dependencies and influencing backlog prioritization and trade off decisions
- Proactively identify, manage, and resolve cross team risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate effectively when needed
- Ensure delivery of high quality outcomes while managing costs within allocated budgets
Champion AI accelerated product development and AI infused experiences
- Champion the effective use of AI tools across product discovery, definition, delivery, and operations to improve speed and quality
- Identify and elaborate opportunities to responsibly incorporate AI into member experiences, with clear measurement, monitoring, and feedback loops
Operational excellence
- Deeply understand how experiences perform in production, including usage, member sentiment, quality metrics, and operational issues
- Use data and feedback to identify improvement opportunities and inform roadmap and prioritization decisions
Executive ready communication
- Communicate progress, trade offs, risks, and outcomes clearly to senior stakeholders
- Articulate value through concise narratives, artifacts, and data backed insights tailored to both technical and non technical audiences
Leadership and mentorship
- Provide mentorship and informal leadership to other technical product managers
- Raise the bar for product definition, execution rigor, and cross functional collaboration within the TPM community

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of experience in technical or software product management, or closely related roles
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex, technology enabled digital products using modern product discovery and delivery practices
- Solid ability to partner with and influence business, UX, engineering, architecture, and data teams
- Proven ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity, complexity, and cross portfolio dependencies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the healthcare industry
- Experience delivering consumer facing web and mobile digital experiences at scale
- Experience integrating AI responsibly into customer facing digital products with measurable outcomes
- Experience using AI tools to improve product discovery, definition, delivery, and/or operational maturity
- Solid presentation and storytelling skills, with experience influencing senior leaders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non technical stakeholders
