In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
- Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
- Drive solutions to Automate tasks
- Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, OCP, Kubernetes
- Design complex system upgrades
- Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
- Develop a long term plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
- Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Analyzes performance statistics and determines hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets.
- Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees updating and testing of the business continuation plan. Assigns project tasks and provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff.
- 5+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 5+ years of Cloud experience
- 5+ years of Perl or Shell experience
- 5+ Years of Tomcat and Apache Administration experience
- 5+ Years of Agile experience
- 5+ Years of Unix Administration experience
- Knowledge and understanding of technology middleware: performance tuning and analyze bottlenecks
- Knowledge and understanding of technology monitoring: applications to ensure 24x7 uptime
- Knowledge and understanding of technology production support: highly available critical application
- Knowledge and understanding of technology support: logically analyzing, diagnosing, and solving technology problems (network, application, or field hardware)
- Knowledge and understanding of technology server: file encryption technology, encryption key management and information security policies
- Deep understanding of java applications including how to read a thread dump and use of java flight recorder
- Ability to quickly script for new alarms and execute according to company approved alerting tools
- Support will involve production support, software upgrades, application installations etc. This individual will also be part of the 24x7 on-call/pager support.
