About this role:

This position is a senior level technical role that will lead application support of production systems with a focus on incident management, problem management, change/release, and other ITIL based functions.  The individual will need to lead discussions and collaboration with development and business teams and be able to develop a deep understanding of applications and business functionality. This role will be responsible for leading  the efforts to transform and mature services provided by the global team, drive adoption of core tool sets, and strengthen the partnerships with development and business partners. The position will be working in a corporate environment with large, complex, and critical applications across a wide range of technologies.  Examples include large, complex, Tier 1 IIS/.NET/SQL applications, web hosting with multiple server tier levels, and application and server level clustering and load balancing. This position will follow corporate policies regarding security, documentation, audit and change control processes. This individual will lead a team of onshore and offshore engineers maintaining the availability and performance of the production systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams
  • Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
  • Instantiate Site Reliability Engineering and AIOPs capabilities at Wells Fargo Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) igniting the practice, principles, and culture leading by example. Assist in training skilled peer engineers by growing the practice within EFT and partnering with peer platform embedded SRE teams
  • Introduce and mature the adoption of enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovation improving availability in a multi-cloud ecosystem by evolving observability.
  • Drive adoption of automation and operations best practices, removing manual activities, partnering with development teams identifying areas of improvement and efficiency.
  • Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of application production support experience
  • 3+ years of Java, C#, Python or other object oriented software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience performing engineering and support tasks on Linux/Unix and Windows Servers
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies

  • Experience supporting an enterprise-level environment

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization; including management

  • Strong team or technical leadership experience

  • Proven track record of driving change and process improvement

  • Ability to manage initiatives involving process improvement

  • BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology

  • Execute incident, problem, change and release management across a wide range of applications and technologies

  • Drive remediation activities, run incident bridges, and provide status on active issues

  • Effectively multi-task across a wide range of activities

  • Communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with leadership within technology and the business

  • Work with vendors and vendor products to troubleshoot issues

  • Identify gaps and single points of failure in current technology process or design

  • Create, Update and maintain all aspects application specific troubleshooting documentations and runbooks along with training/knowledge transfer to other team members

  • Drive identification and development of automation for repetitive tasks

  • Ensure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area

  • Execute daily maintenance tasks and proactive review of the production environment

  • Work incident, problem, and request ticket queues to ensure all tickets are completed on time and to satisfaction of requester

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$96,600.00 - $206,100.00
