Leidos is seeking a highly motivated Lead Supply Chain Engineer (SCE) to support our Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) Program within our Digital Modernization Sector. This role acts as a critical bridge between Program Management, Engineering, and Strategic Sourcing, ensuring alignment of material needs with program goals. The SCE will leverage technical expertise to develop innovative supply chain strategies, drive cost savings, and provide solutions that enable program success.

This is a hands-on role for a technical professional with a background in engineering and supply chain, skilled in cost/value engineering, affordability, negotiations, and technical problem solving.

The Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) program is focused on modernizing and unifying the Army’s IT transport network. This effort will upgrade sites with standardized, secure, and reliable technology so soldiers around the world have fast, trusted access to the applications, data, and services they need. We’re looking for candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy solving complex problems, and want to make a direct impact by supporting those who serve.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute innovative supply chain strategies to drive efficiency, cost savings, and operational improvements.
  • Serve as the supply chain interface for IT manufacturers, value-added resellers, and other suppliers supporting the program.
  • Own and manage the request for quote (RFQ) process, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS and internal policies.
  • Maintain the AGUN catalog and develop a master repository of RFQs and pricing to streamline sourcing activities.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to meet cost savings and avoidance targets.
  • Prioritize material deliveries to align with production schedules and program milestones.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, Category Managers, Supplier Relationship Managers, and capture/proposal teams to define technical requirements and develop sourcing strategies.
  • Support forecasting models, supply needs assessments, and proposal bid reviews.
  • Contribute to Supplier Management, Program Strategy Development, Business Process Reengineering, and deployment of procurement tools.
  • Conduct market research and develop purchasing requirements based on customer needs.
  • Review and validate lists of material for completeness, accuracy, and suitability for use.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field along with 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Strong technical background with demonstrated experience in cost/value engineering and affordability analysis.
  • Experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, and resellers, particularly within IT or related technical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct data analysis, pricing, and forecasting.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and avoidance targets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to interface across functions.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and experience supporting proposals or government programs.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business.
  • Experience supporting large government contracts or programs.
  • Knowledge of procurement systems, ERP tools (e.g., CostPoint, SAP), and data visualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, networking, or hardware/software supply chains.
  • Experience driving business process re-engineering and implementing procurement tools.
  • Prior experience in developing and implementing supply chain innovations for large-scale programs.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent).
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Located in the DC Metro Area

At Leidos, we don’t want someone who "fits the mold"—we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, “what’s next?” before the dust settles on “what’s now.”

If you’re already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2… good. You’ll fit right in.
