Job Summary

Our Rail + Transit team is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer, to work on various projects in the DMV Area. This position will require extensive knowledge of light rail systems and executing transit projects.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with diverse disciplines in horizontal and vertical structural design delivery, including but not limited to structural, civils, environmental, social, finance, and economics..

  • Review engineering design, plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable design codes.

  • Ability to work as part of a team to provide deliverables and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to check drawings and to coordinate with clients (architects, other engineers, general contractors, etc.).

  • Provide assistance to ensure that drawings, calculations and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards and strengths and follow Quality Assurance and Control procedure.

  • Assist in the preparation of project data for schedules, assist in preparing schedules and budgets in order to monitor progress reports.

  • Ability to provide quality control/quality assurance to ensure deliverables are of high quality and on-time.

  • Assist with proposal preparation and business development efforts, including supporting pursuit strategies, contributing technical input, and helping to capture and deliver new work opportunities.

  • Lead and mentor junior team members by providing technical guidance, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure high-quality project delivery.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering requires of equivalent international charter with 10+ years' experience of Rail and Transit.

  • Well versed in structural analysis and building behavior.

  • Shall have solid project management skills, client relationship management, and adept in vertical and horizontal engineering principles and code.

  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.

  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.

  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.


 

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $153,000 - $230,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer. TYLin is proud to offer exciting career development opportunities.
