About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale ETL and data engineering solutions. This role will drive complex, companywide technology initiatives and help establish engineering standards and best practices across the organization. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in Ab Initio and data warehousing with strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities.
In This Role, You Will
  • Lead complex technology initiatives, including large-scale and enterprise-wide programs
  • Act as a key participant in defining standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex technology solutions
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document software solutions for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze large-scale technology solutions aligned to tactical and strategic business objectives
  • Evaluate enterprise technology environments and solve complex technical challenges requiring in-depth analysis of multiple factors, including unprecedented or intangible considerations
  • Make technical decisions that influence companywide engineering practices, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies
  • Collaborate and consult with senior technologists, architects, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues
  • Lead projects and teams, and serve as a peer mentor to engineers
  • Influence delivery outcomes while driving innovation and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications
  • Technology-oriented Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), or equivalent advanced degree
  • Strong experience with Ab Initio, Spark, UNIX shell scripting, and Oracle (SQL/PL-SQL)
  • Proven SQL programming, performance tuning, and relational data modeling skills
  • Hands-on experience with key Ab Initio features (workload/workflow management, continuous flows, EME, Express>IT)
  • Applied understanding of AI/ML concepts and enterprise AI integration
  • Ability to guide developers, collaborate cross-functionally in Agile teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively

Job Expectations
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
