Your Impact
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical direction on translating business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs. This includes facilitating the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications. This role serves as a technical expert for project teams throughout the implementation and maintenance of business and enterprise software solutions. In addition, this role personally develops and delivers complex code modules, stable application systems, and integrated enterprise software solutions within various computing environments.
What You Will Do
• Resolves complex problems spanning multiple applications to drive improvements across portfolios; leads projects with significant business implications and participates in planning, prioritization and estimates.
• Leads development of integrated business and/or enterprise application to ensure solution is resilient, scalable, and maintainable and meets architectural standards.
• Builds awareness and product alignment to enterprise recommended frameworks, tools, technologies, engineering platforms, and architectural design processes.
• Drives operational excellence through disaster recovery and capacity planning, performance, regression and chaos testing, observability alerts and dashboards, and reliability processes and recovery runbooks.
• Deconstructs complex problems into simple solutions that can evolve over time.
• Educates others on engineering standards and best practices, including code quality analysis, test coverage, security principles (authentication and authorization protocols), and Agile processes.
• Mentors and advises others by applying and sharing an in-depth understanding of enterprise and industry technologies, tools, methodologies, policies, standards, and best practices.
• Continuously explores and recommends new enterprise software components and technologies.
• Continuously works to simplify solutions, optimize processes, remove bottlenecks, and resolve escalated issues
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
- 7+ years of experience with designing scalable and maintainable architectures, including domain-driven design (DDD) principles.
- 5+ years of Design Patterns & Best Practices: Strong grasp of design patterns (e.g., Singleton, Factory, Observer) and best practices in coding, code reviews, and system documentation.
- 7+ years of experience with modern Java (Java 17 and above) including strong object-oriented design principles with proficiency in Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security) to build scalable, reliable and robust applications.
- 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing microservices, including familiarity with RESTful web services and API design.
- 5+ years of experience in building frontend using ReactJS (or equivalent JS framework), expertise in HTML, CSS3, TypeScript, JavaScript and experience in state management using Redux or equivalent library.
- 5+ years of proficiency in MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. SQL Database - Proficiency in SQL databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL, query plan explanation, index understanding and distributed architecture based on CAP theorem.
- 5+ years of proficiency in CI & CD practices using tools such as Bitbucket CI, build Tools (Maven or Gradle) for dependency management and build automation.
- 5+ years of experience with message brokers (Kafka), ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) or Prometheus with Grafana
- 5+ years of proficiency with testing frameworks like Junit, Mockito, Jest, Cypress and Jasmine and framework like test containers to implement integration test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using tools for continuous testing and code quality analysis and familiarity with performance profiling and monitoring tools to ensure application scalability and responsiveness.
- Ability to drive and lead critical issues to resolution.
- Proven track record of mentoring teams, conducting code reviews, and guiding junior developers.
- Experience in Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, to drive efficient project delivery and iterative development.
- Enterprise Integration: Knowledge of integration frameworks, such as Apache Camel or Spring Integration, and familiarity with SOAP and REST protocols.
- Understand the health of the applications, OKRs, tech debt to build a healthy backlog for the team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating technical concepts clearly, and interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of best practices in secure software development, including understanding vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP guidelines) and ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Ability to visualize the bigger picture and provide solution recommendations when a process and/or technology changes with clear artifacts (tech diagram, sequence diagram, internal/external dependencies etc.).
- Git proficiency, including workflows like Gitflow for collaboration and deployment.
- Knowledge of best practices in secure software development, including understanding vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP guidelines) and ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Ability to visualize the bigger picture and provide solution recommendations when a process and/or technology changes with clear artifacts (tech diagram, sequence diagram, internal/external dependencies etc.).
- NoSQL Databases: Exposure to NoSQL platforms like MongoDB or Cassandra can be a plus, especially if your application requires flexible schema designs or horizontal scaling.
- Caching Mechanisms: Familiarity with local caching like SpringCache/Caffeine and distributed cache like Redis/Memcached.
- Familiarity with containerized architecture in Kubernetes, Service mesh construct like Control Plane and Data Plane and knowledge about networking, load balancer, CDN and reverse proxy.
- Problem-Solving & Decision Making: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and make informed architectural and technical decisions.
