Working under minimal supervision, this person will perform software development activities related to existing and new product development. The person will be directed by the team leader, architect, and/or manager and will liaison with Customer technical staff and cross-departmental Merge technical and clinical staff to understand new requirements / design constraints and understand or troubleshoot existing problems with the product. The person is expected to develop and document designs for modules, code and implement those designs, and perform developer verification and validation of those implementations according to the Merge Standard Operating Procedures. The person is also expected to mentor and provide technical guidance to other team members using their knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities:

Contribute to product development following Merge’s methodologies and best practices.

Analyze requirements, design, implement, and test software modules.

Prepare and maintain software specifications, test descriptions, estimates, and technical documentation.

Conduct module/unit testing, validation, and verification activities.
-
Investigate, report, and resolve product defects.
-
Support escalated customer issues and assist with technical troubleshooting.
-
Participate in the review of engineering artifacts (e.g., specs, designs, code, reports).

Design and develop next-generation platforms for both cloud and on-premise deployments.

Create deployment systems for interdependent Linux/Kubernetes-based applications.

Assist in preparing and reviewing project plans, reports, and compliance documents.

Mentor team members and perform peer reviews of engineering work.

Engage in code/design reviews with team leads or architects.

Interface with customers and internal teams to gather requirements and provide technical input.
