Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing global engineering organization and take a leading technical role in the continued development of the Pinewood Automotive Intelligence Platform, our enterprise-scale SaaS platform used by automotive retailers and OEMs around the world.

Fort Lauderdale is the preferred location for this role, but we are open to fully remote candidates anywhere in the U.S. where their seniority, technical expertise, and overall experience are an exceptional match for the position.

As a senior member of the engineering organization, you will lead and support a team of developers and senior engineers, helping shape technical decisions, guide delivery, and establish high standards for engineering excellence.

This role is ideal for a strong technical leader who enjoys staying hands-on with code, developing people, solving complex technical problems, and helping shape the engineering practices of a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide day-to-day technical direction to a team of software developers and engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams across the U.S. and internationally to deliver high-quality features and enhancements for the Pinewood Automotive Intelligence Platform.
  • Remain hands-on with coding, software design, and architecture, promoting engineering best practices across the full .NET stack.
  • Mentor and coach developers and senior engineers, helping them strengthen their technical capabilities and progress in their careers.
  • Ensure the team delivers scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions that meet enterprise SaaS standards.
  • Help shape engineering processes, development standards, CI/CD pipelines, and technical practices as the U.S. engineering organization grows.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to long-term technology and system design decisions.
  • Promote strong communication and collaboration across geographically distributed engineering and product teams.
  • Diagnose complex technical issues, conduct code reviews, and lead the resolution of challenging engineering problems.
  • Help build a positive, collaborative, and high-performing engineering culture.
  • Balance technical leadership with hands-on development, remaining close to the code and actively contributing to delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Lead Developer, Senior Software Engineer, Technical Lead, or similar senior engineering role within a SaaS, enterprise software, or similarly complex technology environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET / .NET Core, and SQL / T-SQL.
  • Solid understanding of database design, performance optimization, and query tuning.
  • Experience delivering front-end functionality using HTML, JavaScript, and Razor.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps, or equivalent cloud and CI/CD technologies.
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio and/or VS Code.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, security, and modern software development practices.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing other engineers, with the ability to lead through both technical expertise and influence.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively across distributed teams and multiple time zones.
  • Ability to make sound technical decisions while balancing engineering quality, delivery timelines, and business priorities.
  • Experience in the automotive, enterprise SaaS, or other complex/high-availability software environments is highly desirable.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience helping establish, grow, or scale a new engineering team or technical function.
  • Previous experience working within a globally distributed engineering organization.
  • Experience working on large-scale, business-critical SaaS platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-native development and modern software engineering practices.
  • Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
