About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Financial Reporting Analyst who will play a critical leadership role within the US Prudential Regulatory Reporting organization. This role partners closely with Business Controllers, Regulatory Interpretations, Technology, and Controllers Transformation teams to ensure consistent adherence to regulatory rules, drive automation and analytics solutions, and lead change in an increasingly complex regulatory environment. The role serves as a subject matter expert in counterparty and regulatory reporting, specifically the FFIEC 009/A, FR 2510, FR 2590, and TIC reporting. The position also provides guidance and mentorship to other analysts and contributes to strengthening the firm's risk management, governance, and control environment.

In this role, you will:
Regulatory Reporting Leadership & Governance
- Partner with Business Controllers, Regulatory Interpretation, and Controllers Transformation teams to ensure consistent interpretation and application of regulatory reporting requirements across the enterprise.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's Financial Reporting Governance & Control, RCSA, and Data Management Policies, which includes performing, reviewing, and identifying enhancement opportunities for internal controls.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure timely and accurate completion of all regulatory reporting deliverables.
- Assess the impact of reporting errors and deficiencies, lead discussions with line of business reporting teams, and track resolution efforts in accordance with policy requirements.
- Lead effective change management by clearly communicating regulatory reporting changes and ensuring appropriate implementation of new or revised requirements across stakeholders.
- Serve as a subject matter expert providing business knowledge and technical interpretation to support strategic automation and implementation of counterparty reporting in Axiom and Power BI.
- Provide technical advisory support on regulatory reporting matters that arise in a continually changing environment.
- Act as a change agent in driving best practices, standardization, and continuous improvement within the regulatory reporting function.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, analytics, and AI to streamline manual reporting processes and enhance control effectiveness.
- Partner with Technology teams to design, implement, and sustain automated solutions aligned with regulatory and risk management requirements.
- Support enterprise transformation initiatives related to reporting modernization and data transparency.
- Serve as a liaison with internal testing teams and external regulatory agencies, supporting regulatory exams or inquiries and reporting reviews.
- Provide strategic consultation and clear communication to senior leadership across the enterprise on regulatory reporting matters.
- Act as a team lead by providing work guidance, coaching, and mentorship to other analysts.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve complex issues and achieve shared objectives.
- 5+ years of Finance, Accounting, Financial Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in Regulatory Counterparty reporting, including (FFIEC 009/A, FR2510, FR2590, TIC reporting) and related regulatory environment knowledge.
- CPA preferred
- Superior project management skills including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
- Leadership experience with a focus coaching, training, and mentoring others
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
- Expertise in AI-driven automation tools and proficiency using Axiom and Power BI for reporting is preferred
- Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable, actionable information and recommendations
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

- This position offers a hybrid work schedule in our Charlotte or Minneapolis locations
