Lead development of AI tools for game developers, optimizing code, managing teams, and working on engine architecture, especially using C++.
We’re looking for an experienced engine programmer to help us build the next generation of tools for both internal products, as well as external tools for game developers.
We have an extremely exciting new product called Aura (https://www.tryaura.dev/) that you’ll be leading development for. Aura is the smartest AI agent for Unreal Engine that assists with implementation (both Blueprints and C++), debugging, and more.
The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable working close to the metal and also dealing with ambiguity and shifting product priorities as we iterate and test new concepts.
You will be given a large degree of autonomy and responsibility – much of the success of the company will rest on your shoulders – therefore you should have experience with this kind of thing in the past – perhaps as a founder, founding engineer, or a solo dev that shipped something of significance.
Requirements
- Tech: Expert low-level C/C++ experience, especially with larger codebases and writing multi-threaded programming and job systems
- CPU optimization, profiling, and memory management
- Full-Stack understanding of engine architecture, from rendering up to scripting layer
- Demonstrable experience leading and inspiring technical teams to elevate everyone’s performance.
- An intuitive sense of what makes a good product, proven by the products you’ve shipped in the past
Pluses
- Unreal Engine experience
- Building with LLM APIs
- Graphics programming experience – both with shaders and renderers
- Multiplayer programming and backend services
