Summary
The Lead Domain Architect, Data Management, serves as a strategic and technical advisor within Workiva’s Data Management Practice. This role supports customers and partners through onboarding, implementation, and adoption of Workiva solutions, applying expertise in data management, integration, and automation to deliver long-term value. Acting as a bridge between Sales, Engineering, and Customer & Partner Experience teams, the Architect helps organizations realize the full potential of Workiva’s platform while staying aligned with evolving industry trends.
In this role, the Lead Domain Architect leads customer and partner engagements, including executive-level interactions, to design and deliver scalable data solutions. By fostering strong relationships, guiding best practices, and enabling self-sufficiency, the Architect ensures reliable, high-quality disclosures and measurable business outcomes that drive lasting success with Workiva solutions.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with customers to understand their business needs, data requirements, and desired outcomes with Workiva solutions
Partner with the pre-sales team to facilitate a seamless transition from the sales process to implementation services engagements and beyond
Engage with Solution Architects and Customer Success teams to ensure a cohesive and positive customer experience throughout onboarding and implementation
Analyze customer needs and recommend optimal use of Workiva's Data Management Suite to achieve accurate, efficient, and scalable solutions, including providing direction to other project delivery team members on successful implementation steps
Provide leadership to consulting project delivery stakeholders to define tasks, contribute to project plans, and monitor progress
Architect, oversee, and review data integration workflows between various customer systems and the Workiva platform
Architect, oversee, and review data queries and reporting solutions that meet customer analytical and reporting requirements, including mentoring internal and external stakeholders on leading practices
Lead knowledge sharing sessions with customer and partner application owners to enable self-sufficiency and ongoing success.
Conduct in-depth technical assessments of customer data management architectures, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for optimization
Gather feedback from customer and partner interactions and share insights with Management, Leadership, Product Engineering, and Product Management
Drive customer and partner success by fostering product adoption, ensuring satisfaction, and contributing to overall customer health.
Collaborate with Customer Success and Partner Experience teams to define expected outcomes and demonstrate the value realized by customers and partners
Accurately document new and existing data management features and functionalities for internal and external reference
Proactively monitor customer and partner environments, staying informed about the Workiva product roadmap, and uncovering customer needs to provide effective support and guidance
What You'll Need
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field of study such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar
8+ years of experience in customer-facing roles, preferably Customer Success, Solution Architecture, or Consulting
3 years of experience serving as a technical lead or fulfilling a team lead position
Preferred Qualifications
Able to obtain a Public Sector clearance
Experience integrating or managing Software-as-a-Service applications and enterprise systems, especially in the fields of Accounting & Finance, Audit, Risk & Compliance, or Sustainability
Expertise in various data structures and schemas from regulated industries (e.g., finance, audit, compliance, sustainability, etc.) with the ability to translate complex regulatory data requirements into intuitive, software-driven workflows
Experience integrating with or managing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle, Workday, SAP, Sage, or similar; Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems such as Oracle, Planful, Anaplan, or similar; and Enterprise Data & Analytics systems such as Oracle, Snowflake, Power BI, or similar
Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern data architectures (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse)
Prior experience with integration technologies such as Informatica, Microsoft SSIS, Boomi, Mulesoft, Workato, or similar solutions
Knowledge of API design philosophy/patterns, communication protocols (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML), and encoding
Strong understanding of Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and ETL techniques
Ability to create, review, and troubleshoot queries using SQL
Intermediate to advanced Python scripting skills, including Python certifications
Passionate about customer success and driving long-term customer value
Highly data-driven and detail-oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
Self-starter with the ability to manage time and prioritize demands
Strong problem-solving skills with technical diagnostic ability
General computer technology skills (Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Google Slides)
Ability to build credibility and relationships with both business stakeholders and technical leaders at various levels
Ability to influence at all levels and in various departments
Travel Requirements and Working Conditions
25% Travel for internal meetings
Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office
How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $151,000.00 - $242,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
