Job Summary:

The HCD Lead Design Engineer III is responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of our enterprise design language system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and innovation across all our digital products. They bridge the gap between design and engineering, translating creative concepts into functional, user-friendly interfaces. The role will be crucial in establishing best practices, mentoring team members, and driving the evolution of our design system to meet the ever-changing needs of our users and business.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of our design language system, ensuring its scalable, accessible, and aligned with industry best practice
  • Responsible for designing and building design system infrastructure like token systems and associated transformation tools or pipelines
  • Design, build and maintain design system documentation and infrastructure for publishing the documentation
  • Design, build and maintain design tool plugins or other custom tooling used by designers
  • Building design system implementations (i.e. component libraries)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement design patterns, components, and guidelines
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and design trends, incorporating relevant advancements into our design system
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the organization
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of our design and technology initiatives through idea validation, rapid prototyping, UI code quality, and systems thinking
  • Ability to co-define measures of success, test your assumptions and outcomes, and incorporate feedback
  • Coordinate with other design team members to ensure consistent and accurate communication
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Design, Computer Science, Business, a related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
  • Five (5) years of professional design engineering experience, developing complex or enterprise-level design language systems is required

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of different technology solutions in the healthcare space; ability to learn new technology to support business direction and customer needs
  • Expert in design thinking principles and design engineering
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams, set priorities, manage projects, deliver results based on requirements and goals
  • Comfortable and confident interacting with business partners and senior/executive leadership
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the healthcare and/or managed care ecosystem is a plus

Licensure and Certification:

  • Design, User Experience Design, or development certification is strongly desired

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Compensation Range:

$110,800.00 - $193,800.00

CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
