The primary focus of this position is to lead efforts in coordinating group projects across departments and hospitals to determine ways to improve financial performance and then to lead the implementation of these process improvements. Analyze data from various sources and systems in order to present reports as required by regulatory agencies and to recommend and implement solutions to assist in planning and decision making. Technical skills are employed to access various systems, requiring ongoing education regarding data extraction and various computer systems. Extensive knowledge of third party reimbursement regulations and reimbursement modeling is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor degree in Business Management, Marketing, Hospital Administration or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

1. 6 years of experience in Healthcare Finance or Accounting.

1. Lead efforts in the communication and education of others regarding financial improvement analysis, findings and recommendations.

2. Coordinate monthly and annual financial reports to all levels of staff, management, and external agencies.

3. Lead efforts to work with staff and other departments to resolve problems and correct deficiencies in processes.

4. Proactively research and identify revenue opportunities and implement changes to realize improvements.

5. Maintains current knowledge of third party reimbursement regulations in order to develop reimbursement models

6. Maintains ability to manipulate and analyze complex data to assist in decision making

7. Collaboratively interacts with Finance.

8. Manage the verification of data for monthly and annual reports

9. Identify data uses and reimbursement opportunities that are not currently employed

10. Remain current with reimbursement policy changes.

11. Collaboratively interacts with Information Technology, Patient Financial Services and Decision Support.

12. Manages and assist with how information is collected, maintained and reported in all key systems.

13. Produce and manage reports to identify data uses and develop analysis opportunities that are currently not used.

14. Lead efforts with IT, PFS and DSS to design solutions to various technical problems.

15. Maintain and continually improve on technical skills needed to manipulate data.

16. Write PC programs, spreadsheet macros and design data base structures as needed to produce and analyze reports.

17. Develop and maintain advanced report writing skills within the Accounts Receivable system and other systems as needed

18. Produce and manage financial reports and statistical analysis of data for financial projects and other projects as assigned to support decision making.

19. Provide leadership and support in performance improvement activities.

20. Participates on performance improvement initiatives as team leader or in a leadership role in areas of technical expertise.

21. Become an expert on issues and technical problems that appear as roadblocks to projects and offer solutions to address issues.

22. Communicate systems improvement analysis, findings and recommendations

23. Provide formal and informal data analysis to all levels of staff and management

24. Educate Finance and other areas needed regarding data analysis

25. Maintain software skills needed to provide high quality graphics, presentations and formal written reports

26. Maintain current knowledge of performance improvement processes as it applies to health care.

27. Attends courses in PI activities, system design, technical training, statistical analysis and other appropriate health care related educational courses.

28. Participates in meeting the objectives of the work unit and goals of the department.

29. Promotes and contributes positively to the teamwork of the department by assisting co-workers, contributing ideas and problem-solving with co-workers as observed by supervisor.

30. Participates in performance improvement through planning and implementing change and maintaining and improving productivity through attendance and participation in staff meetings, committees, task forces, cross functional groups, projects and discussion with hospital and medical staff as observed by supervisor.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Direct experience in data analysis, financial analysis and reporting preferred

2. Excellent communication is essential for effectively interacting with management, organizational and analytical skills

3.Extensive knowledge of personal computers and Excel software preferred
