Responsibilities:
- Advanced PostgreSQL Database Management: Lead the management of PostgreSQL databases, focusing on backups, security, and performance tuning to ensure optimal operation and reliability.
- Database Performance Mastery: Identify and resolve complex database performance issues, implementing advanced techniques for efficiency and speed optimization.
- ETL Process Leadership: Oversee the development and optimization of shell scripts for ETL processes, ensuring robust integration with third-party systems and maintaining data integrity.
- Cross-Organizational Data Integration: Collaborate with various departments to design and implement strategies for integrating and managing data flow from a range of internally deployed enterprise data and reporting systems.
- Linux and Shell Scripting Expertise: Leverage expert-level knowledge in Linux environments and shell scripting to automate sophisticated database operations.
- Snowflake Proficiency: Utilize expertise in Snowflake for enhanced data warehousing and analytical capabilities.
- Strategic Database Migration: Lead the strategic migration of the PostgreSQL database from AWS to an Azure Service, ensuring a seamless and efficient transition.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A Master's Degree is highly preferred.
- Professional Certifications: Advanced certifications in database management (e.g., PostgreSQL), Linux, or cloud services (AWS, Azure) are highly desirable.
Qualifications:
- Extensive PostgreSQL Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases, with a focus on advanced performance tuning and security. Conversely, we will consider candidates with exceptional skills in other DBMS, such as Microsoft SQL Server, with a strong desire to learn PostgreSQL.
- Linux and Shell Scripting Proficiency: Advanced skills in Linux environments and scripting for complex database operation automation.
- Snowflake Knowledge: Deep understanding of Snowflake and its integration within database systems.
- Expertise in ETL Management: Proven experience in leading ETL processes, particularly involving shell scripts and intricate third-party integrations.
- Cloud Services Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience with cloud services, specifically AWS and Azure, for effective database migration projects.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, driving major projects and organizational initiatives.
- Knowledge of Ansible is preferred
