This role is responsible for supporting the Product and Data Controls across the Commercial Banking domains. The Control team is responsible for partnering with their relevant business group to develop and maintain a strong control environment leading to the early identification and sustainable mitigation of operational risk.
The Control team focuses on five areas: Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Controls & Issue Management, Control Reporting & Governance and Control Programs. Leads and influences partnerships with the CB Data Domains and across all commercial lending businesses within Commercial Banking and Enterprise functions- Audit, Finance, and Technology and their business process owners by consulting and providing expertise strategic direction in the control design to effectively mitigate risks, including design of effective means of measurement

In this role, you will:
- Partner with Commercial Banking Data Domain team on issue identification - driving through all aspects of the issues management lifecycle (issue open, corrective actions development, submission tollgates, approvals, monthly status updates, Corrective Action validations, and overall issue validations and tollgates)
- Drive issue and control solutions, properly structuring of corrective actions scope and accountability. Be engaged with the business on day-to-day activities and routines to ensure successful execution and control management on issues; manage routines, address challenges, and track progress to ensure on-time delivery by the business.
- Engages in the development and implementation of new controls, action plans, and root cause analysis. Supports the Business with implementation of Control programs by providing consultative guidance. Assesses and designs appropriate metrics to inform and monitor the health of the operational risk environment.
- Supports a strong risk management culture through the implementation of key risk management programs (Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)) into the standard operating framework of the business
- 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- Experience working with data management, data governance, and technology teams with an understanding of risk and controls required for a sound data domain.
- Strong knowledge and experience in risk and control identification methods and performing assessments.
- Deep technical understanding of technology and data management operations, processes, products, and data management risks and where they manifest risk.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and applicable Corporate Policy requirements in order to identify areas of risk and issues for the LOB and/or provide credible challenge.
- Knowledge and understanding on Control Programs including Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), executing the RCSA (risk identification, risk assessment - inherent/residual, and control design and Issue Management
- Direct experience with Issue Management Life Cycle and issue & corrective action remediation
- Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) and Veritas such as reporting and issue management
- Ability to collaborate at all levels of organization but also influence to ensure risks are appropriately mitigated in a timely and efficient manner.
- Strong, proactive, individual contributor and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
- Ability to create, implement and maintain effective repeatable processes.
- Ability to effectively analyze, draw conclusions and make sound recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- This is an in-office position currently requiring at least three in-office days per week at one of the locations listed below.
