Summary:

Provide subject matter expertise for implementation and ongoing support of Middleware integration technologies in production, non-production legacy and container-based environments. Work under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager.  Provide technical expertise to Middleware staff. Manage day to day activities when called upon.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and maintain 3rd party software components classified as middleware on multiple operating system platforms using Terraform, Ansible and GIT/ops

  • Use subject matter expertise with products to advise on design and assist with development of applications using these tools. 

  • Configure production, development and testing environments and ensure the availability of these application services

  • Write complex automation scripts using common automation tools, such as Jenkins and Ansible

  • Provide performance tuning of components and services

  • Design disaster recovery solutions for middleware technologies to comply with business continuity objectives

  • Resolve configuration related problems

  • Resolve complex support issues in both production and non-production environments.

  • Assist production support and development staff in debugging middleware application defects.

  • Create procedural and troubleshooting documentation related to middleware products

  • Participate in or lead moderately or high complex projects.

  • Properly secure middleware technologies

  • Advise on industry best practices as it relates to new product selection.

  • Manage day to day activities of the middleware staff when called upon to do so.

  • Management of Vulnerabilities, SORT’s, Password rotations and Certificate renewals

Technical Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience in design, develop, deploy and orchestrate the install/upgrade of Middleware technologies (Ideally Apigee/Nginx ) leveraging Terraform, Ansible, Gitops on Kubernetes clusters
  • 6+ years of experience on Terraform and Ansible deployment model of Middleware Technologies is a must.
  • 4+ years of experience in configuring, troubleshooting proxies on Apigee and applications on Nginx.
  • 2+ years of experience in delivering, supporting and troubleshooting applications on Rancher and Open shift environments.
  • 2+ years of experience writing Operational and Environment provisioning Jenkins pipelines.
  • Fluid on D.R Strategies, failover plannings and implementation of complex Application Architecture in multi-Datacenters.
  • Command on CI/CD stack which includes Harness, Artifactory and Hashi Corp vault
  • Supports J2EE application services in containers and legacy systems.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area
  • 7-10 years of related experience with
    • Minimum 7 years experience working in a distributed multi-platform environment.
    • Minimum 4 years supporting middleware technologies

Certificates or Licenses:

  • Cloud certification a plus.

Compensation

  • The salary range listed for any given position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at OCC, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education.
  • In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
  • We typically do not hire at the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package as noted on www.theocc.com/careers
  • All employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, company and individual performance and are not guaranteed.

Salary Range

$134,200.00 - $187,900.00

Incentive Range

8% to 15%

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award, for which the target range is listed above (see Incentive Range). The amount of such award, if any, will be based on various factors, including without limitation, both individual and company performance.
