About this role:
Wells Fargo's Financial Crimes Operations (FCO) is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant to join the FCO Insights & Intelligence Center to provide support to the Screening & Monitoring Operations (SMO). This role using data and analytics will support screening initiatives, systems parameters and configurations, testing and tuning approach, change impact analysis, operational readiness, metrics and reporting, and model documentation and validation. The Lead Analytics Consultant will report directly to the leader of the FCO Insights & Intelligence Center and will lead activities designed to ensure screening and monitoring technology and vendor solutions are fit for purpose, effective, and continuously improving.
In this role, you will:
  • Manage system parameters and configurations, testing and tuning approach, and the operational impact for screening models.
  • Conduct ongoing testing of model and tool performance followed by documentation of findings.
  • Manage and maintain configuration controls and associated control procedures for screening solutions and models. This is inclusive of creating and writing the controls and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain procedures, job aids, change management documentation, testing results, etc. This is inclusive of creating and writing materials.
  • Proactively drives the ongoing improvement and optimization of the configuration management process ensuring optimal system (and model) effectiveness and efficiency, as well as general improvements related to screening.
  • Make recommendations or decisions on highly complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group's functional area and activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (product managers, technology developers, testers, end-users, and senior management) to measure and analyze performance, solicit performance data and feedback, and drive improvements.
  • Lead cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute programs involving screening (e.g., PEP, Negative News, and others) solutions and models.
  • Function as a screening solution and process subject matter expert during change management, metric and reporting, and model management, documentation, and validation activities.
  • Performs moderately complex data mining from very large, complex and multiple data sources using various tools, including SAS, SQL, Python, Alteryx and others of multiple data sources to perform analysis, modeling and/or comparative analysis.
  • Partners in the development of moderately complex dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and/or Power BI, attaching to multiple sources, tiered levels of security and data sets from varied sources and sizes.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ability to create documentation of process flows, business analysis and metadata, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • 4+ years of SAS, SQL, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated data visualization experience using a BI Tool e.g., Tableau, Microsoft BI, etc.
  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML programs, including Client Screening (PEP, Negative News, Sanctions, etc.), CDD, KYC, CIP, transaction monitoring, and enhanced due diligence.
  • Experience with partnering and collaborating across lines of business and with operations to deploy prevention and detection strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong experience drafting business proposals with visuals that tell the story.
  • Ability to quickly learn business operations and processes.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others, work independently, initiate action, and accept challenging assignments.
  • Ability to translate and summarize complex data into understandable and actionable information.
  • Experience with AI tools to develop analytic solutions to complex business problems.
  • Ability to translate complex technical needs into straightforward requests for information and collaboration, working with a wide range of people.
Job Expectations:
  • Hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote each week.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
