Lab IT Compute Architect / Solution Designer is responsible and accountable for IT services in Laboratories, including but not limited to Lab networks, compute resources and security services. Solution Designer handles the full cycle of Service offerings, from collecting requirements to day 2 operations – Architecture, technical concept and design, configuration, functionalities, processes, standardization and performance.  This is a global position to support Nokia ongoing Digitalization and AI journey.

Responsibilities

•    Understands Nokia IT and Business requirements and strategy for Laboratories and special environments.
•    Understand security controls and policies. Network and Compute hardening best practices and standards
•    Engage with IT and Business stakeholders on requirements reviews and solutioning
•    Desing and customize IT Service offerings for Laboratories. Services like private/ public cloud and SDN (Software Defined Networks), ensuring high Performance, security and flexibility
•    Define Processes and Operational Procedures for services in her/his area of responsibility
•    Perform implementations (new deployments or changes), implementation reviews or acceptance to ensure design compliance and gap mitigation.
•    Document solution design for various projects and deployment scenarios
•    Support analysis of critical incidents and Identify design related gaps that caused the incident to define preventive actions
•    Drive automation and optimization of Laboratory IT Infrastructure Services
 

Qualifications

•    Bachelors’ degree or engineering degree in Telecommunications/Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
•    Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Enterprise Compute solutions, Private cloud, Datacenter or Network design and deployment, 3+ year experience architecting and integrating private cloud solutions or datacenter virtualization
•    Knowledge in switching, routing and security
•    Strong knowledge in Linux OSes and virtualization platforms (Openstack, VMware, Openshift , Proxmox, etc.).
•    Deep Understanding of ITIL processes
•    Experience in handling large enterprise datacenter environment
•    Knowledge of datacenter design and deployment

 It would be nice if you also had: 
•    Understanding of Infrastructure as Code.
•    Experience in automation and orchestration
•    Experience in coding as scripting

•    knowledge about Nokia Service Routers and Nokia SR Linux products
•    knowledge about Fortinet and Palo Alto Firewalls
•    Knowledge of standard Network infra protocols such as OSPF, BGP,  QoS, VRRP, VxLAN etc.
