Xylem is hiring Key Accounts Sales Direct-Water

The Key Accounts Sales Director-Water plays a pivotal role on the North America Water Sales leadership team. This executive sales position is responsible for driving revenue growth by leading solution-based sales initiatives with the largest and most strategic utility customers in North America. The successful candidate will excel at cultivating C-Suite relationships, winning high-value contracts, and expanding Sensus’ position as the preferred partner for advanced metering and digital water solutions.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead solution sales efforts with large, strategic North American water utilities, from initial engagement through negotiation and contract close.
  • Build and maintain strong executive relationships with utility C-Suite and senior decision-makers, tailoring strategies to align with their business objectives.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed annual revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify and secure new utility customers while expanding Sensus’ footprint within existing key accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with Value-Added Resellers (VARs) and channel partners to ensure joint success and market penetration.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing industry insights, ROI analysis, and thought leadership that differentiate Sensus’ solutions in the marketplace.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and executive forums to elevate the brand and build long-term value within the Xylem company culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field; MBA preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with executive presence and the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
  • 10–15 years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably within metering, AMI, software, digital services, or wireless communication solutions for utilities.
  • Proven record of success in both direct and indirect sales channels, including contract values exceeding $20 million.
  • Demonstrated expertise in new account acquisition and growth of large, complex B2B accounts.
  • Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and ability to translate technical solutions into customer business value.

Salary: 
The estimated salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000 plus bonus.  Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
