Project Expedition, a fast-growing travel startup, is looking for a Travel Planning Specialist to join our Custom and Groups team. This role focuses on creating custom itineraries and quotes for travel advisors and their clients. If you enjoy travel, problem-solving, and finding the right solution for complex requests, you’ll fit right in.
As part of the Custom and Groups team, you’ll design, quote, sell, and support custom experiences for travelers around the world. You’ll work on everything from one-off private tours to large leisure or corporate group programs.
Responsibilities:
Provide timely and professional support to travel advisors and their clients
Collaborate with tour operators worldwide to design custom and group travel itineraries
Develop personalized proposals and quotes tailored to each group’s requirements
Oversee requests ranging from single private tours to multi-day group programs
Resolve issues on the fly to ensure smooth travel experiences
Recommend creative activities and unique experiences to elevate trips
Maintain and update tour content, pricing, and operational details for custom and group programs
Coordinate capacity, schedules, and logistics with vendors and partners
Keep advisors and operators informed of itinerary or schedule updates
Assist advisors and group leaders with questions, bookings, and program details
Track penalties, costs, agreements, and critical deadlines
Review guest feedback and share actionable insights to enhance future programs
The ideal candidate:
3–4 years of experience in travel, tourism, or hospitality
Clear written and verbal communication
Comfortable working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Able to handle several open requests at the same time without things slipping
Detail-oriented and organized
Works well with a team but can manage tasks on their own too
Fluent in English — other languages are a bonus
Experience with group programs or custom itineraries
Familiarity with booking or reservation platforms

While we’re excited to grow our team across the U.S., we’re currently unable to hire employees residing in California or New York.
Please note that while this is a remote position, it is not suitable for digital nomads. Employees must be based in the United States and will have an allocation of time that they can work remotely in other destinations.
