About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and support design & development of our next-generation Merchant acquiring for Servicing & operations technology.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the design, architecture, development & Integration of Merchant Payment servicing and operations platforms ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals and user experience objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and UX designers, to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

  • lead technical innovation and stay abreast of emerging trends in payments, to enhance the product's capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Mentor and guide a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high-quality deliverables.

  • Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce coding standards to ensure the highest level of software craftsmanship.

  • Oversee the deployment and monitoring of Merchant acquiring servicing platform, optimizing performance, reliability, scalability, and user experience.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand user feedback and iterate on product enhancements, ensuring the throughput and SLA requirements for payments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education

  • 4+ years of Proven experience in software development, with a focus on building servicing experiences with digital first architecture mindset

  • 4+ years of Java Version 8 and later functional programming experience

  • 4+ years of experience with Spring, Spring Batch, and Spring Boot

  • 3+ years of Java unit test case development experience

  • 2+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Enterprise

  • 2+ years of Strong expertise in leading the design and build of micro front end architecture and React UI components

  • 2+ years of Solid understanding of hybrid cloud technologies (Azure, Google), microservices architecture, and API integrations

  • 2+ years of Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and mentor junior engineers

Desired Qualifications:

  • Merchant Acquiring, payment gateways, PCI, credit decisioning, Risk & Fraud management, funding, settlement, reconciliation, reporting, case management, IVR, Point of Sale (POS) configuration & device integration

  • Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and testing

  • Good working experience with Camunda, React UI, Java J2EE, Kafka, Azure components, third party integrations

  • Good understanding of Design Patterns and Best Practices

  • Experience with adaptive and responsive development techniques

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and a track record of delivering complex projects on time

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
