Our challenge

As a Java Architect, the candidate will be responsible to Develop, enhance, debug, support, maintain and test software applications that support business units or supporting functions. These application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $115k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies.
  • May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.
  • Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource.
  • Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.
  • May have responsibility for a project and project budget.
  • May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application.
  • Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants.
  • Working with Business partners and enterprise architects to define architecture & design.
  • Working with dev teams to provide design oversight and mentor tech leads.
  • Defining high level designs, architecture roadmaps, technology adoption guideline and standards.

Requirements:

  • Architecting for high throughput, low latency, zero downtime and zero data loss using a microservices architecture
  • Cloud-native design and Domain Driven Design
  • Container design and deployment strategies

Preferred, but not required:

  • 15+ years Solution Architecture.
  • Modern tech stack(cloud, OpenShift, Kafka, Mongo DB / Cockroach DB).
  • UML.
