Job Summary

The role is responsible for all Local IT support/problem resolution for the assigned sites and for overall customer satisfaction. This position supports multiple Duke Energy locations that includes but not limited to Optimist Hall, Matthews Ops Ctr, Marshville Op Ctr, Monroe Solar Facility, Lakewood Tie, Newell Op Ctr and PNG Indian Trail Operation Ctr.  Responsibilities will include onsite deskside technical support, asset management, and IT deployment coordination.  Provides hands-on hardware and software technical support; Responds to problem resolution requests as specified by the priority definitions within Service Level Agreements; Utilizes troubleshooting skills to facilitate problem resolution.  Serves as the Local IT coordinator for the deployment of IT products; Implements deployment plans associated with equipment roll-outs and upgrades.  Meets commitment/completion dates; Ensures on-going support procedures and documentation (including Knowledge Tool entries) are in place.  Participates in after-hours on call rotation.  Provides storm support when needed.  Required to travel to various customer sites for onsite technical support and to transport IT equipment . 

Responsibilities
  • Plans, leases/purchases, deploys/installs system level technical support and remote management for workstations or network printers.

  • Tests and evaluates new PC packages.

  • Performs equipment testing and vendor support management activities.

  • Provides guidance, assistance, coordination and follow-up on customer questions and resolves problems or malfunctions of systems applications, hardware or software.

  • Utilizes appropriate Information Management processes to carry out work assignments.

  • Maintains specific knowledge of the functionality of assigned products supported.

  • Isolates and communicates resolution of simple problems.

Basic/Required Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Information Technology

  • In lieu of Associates degree(s) listed above, High School/GED AND 2 year(s) related work experience

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous Duke Energy experience

  • Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point

Working Conditions
  • Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility.
