Job Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:
- Assist users with installation of software deemed necessary for their job requirements.
- Provide support for resetting of passwords and assisting with other access needs with appropriate prior approvals.
- Efficiently support MST's internal network.
- Provide minimal support of installed applications such as Microsoft Office products.
- Monitor network activity to identify bottlenecks or lapses in the flow of information.
- Monitor system warning lights and messages and take immediate action to address such issues.
- Monitor network traffic and bring to the IT Manager's attention activity which may result in violation of usage policies.
- Support Ethernet cabling needs by installing and patching in network connections for users.
- Identify and correct IP and other conflicts.
- Perform helpdesk duties and support all production and office hardware needs.
- Perform appropriate upgrades to IT equipment to insure maximum performance.
- Make recommendations to the IT Manager regarding areas which should be targeted for modification and/or upgrade.
- Maintain proper security on files/folders/systems to ensure data integrity.
- Receive and accept minor direction from the System Administrator.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the department manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A comprehensive set of knowledge, skills, and abilities in relation to current information.
- Ability to provide quality technical support for all users.
- Ability to maintain a responsive attitude to user needs.
- Must be able to research available options on upcoming hardware and software purchases and recommend a preferred course of action.
- Must be able to obtain competitive quotes on purchases to insure that MST receives the best value possible.
- Must initiate the requisition process for any identified Information Systems purchase with the approval of the department manager.
- Must be an excellent self-motivator and be able to work well under minimal direct oversight.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two years' experience within the information Technology field.
- Experience administering a Windows IP-based network.
- Experience with Cisco & HP switches, Active Directory, Windows Server, and Wi-Fi setup

- Support and comply with all TS16949 & ISO14001 procedures and work instructions.
- Support a safe and healthful work environment that is free of recognized hazards for all employees, contractors and visitors.
- Cooperate with all local, state and federal agencies, such as OSHA or the EPA, in the event of an inspection.
- Know and follow all applicable EH&S Policies and Procedures.
