- Degree in Computer Science, or related discipline with 3 years work-related experience in a similar position.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience. Manufacturing or automotive manufacturing experience needed.
- MES experience is an asset.
- Experience working in both an office and automotive manufacturing environment is desired.
- Extensive hands on experience with the analysis, evaluation, implementation, and support of application hardware, software and security systems.
- Strong technical background with an emphasis on the administration of operating systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server and complex TCP/IP networks
- Experience implementing and supporting third-party applications including server, client and upgrades.
- Experienced with the following: RDBMS – MS SQLServer, C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net, ERP, routers, switches, VLAN management , WiFi, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, WEP/WPA
- The following are considered assets: Reporting Tools – SQL Server Reporting Services, WinForms, ASP.Net MVC, Razor, SSIS, LINQ, MRP/ERP systems, EDI, PLC network integration
- Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload.

- Analyze, design, evaluate, co-ordinate, implement, manage, and support the day-to-day maintenance of all IT hardware and systems as directed by the leadership team in accordance with departmental standards.
- Evaluate new hardware, software, and systems and assist in setting and enforcing company standards
- Act as a “helpdesk” to support plant and office “users” daily with problem resolution.
- Provide high-urgency operational support for connected manufacturing systems and hardware to minimize production downtime.
- Perform systematic analysis of downtime events and track corrective and preventative action plans.
- IT on-boarding of new employees, set up and administration of network accounts following departmental procedures and security protocol
- Implement and manage virtual desktop environments, including virtualize server
- Maintain and continually develop Wide Area Network LAN/WAN, connectivity and topology, emphasizing dependability, speed, and fault tolerance, including Internet access and communication.
- Design and implement shop floor hardware solutions based on business requirements
- Implement and manage core infrastructure and shop floor network changes and upgrades.
- Ensure systems reliability through redundancy, backups and security.
- Coordinate contractors for work/service required by external sources
- Manage maintenance and software assurance contracts
- Manage the complete plant cabling infrastructure, ensuring that all changes/issues are promptly resolved per company standards with minimal user interruption.
- Write technical documentation and manuals while providing clear communications to business users
- Install and trouble-shoot all shop floor PC’s, printers, barcode labelers, etc. and associated hardware/software.
- Oversee EDI systems administration, support and mapping, ensuring that all customer and supplier communication requirements are being met.
- Backup, security, and maintenance of file systems for MIS to include creation of user accounts, logons, and passwords
- Help train and support users on new applications, changes, upgrades and/or recommend external training resources and co-ordinate effective training schedules.
- Manage Storage Area Network and Disaster Recovery Plan including Virtualization
- Provide on-call availability in case of a work-related emergency that requires your immediate attention.
- Handle the day-to-day analysis, design, implementation, testing and integration of internal applications.
- Prepare hardware and software as required.
- Follow all ISMS (Information Security Management Systems) policies from local and corporate.
- Work closely with all internal groups, advising of the best approach for application development, enhancements, upgrades and integration.
- Manage projects to ensure that development target dates are being met, and that the internal customer is being informed of the status.
