Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking an IT Specialist IV- Linux Administration that will be for responsible for engineering, administering, and managing the lifecycle of Linux and container platforms that support hybrid environments across OCI/OCVS, VMware, and on-premises infrastructure. The position ensures reliability, security, and operational continuity for mission‑critical compute environments.
Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & Operations
- Administer, secure, and optimize Linux systems.
- Implement standard builds, patching, and configuration baselines.
- Support and maintain container platforms.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Develop Ansible roles and Terraform modules.
- Build automated workflows and repeatable deployment patterns.
Security & Compliance
- Implement endpoint detection and response (EDR) tooling.
- Manage certificates and support SOC and audit processes.
- Perform vulnerability remediation.
Migration & Modernization
- Support OCI/OCVS migrations and modernization initiatives.
- Contribute to VMware optimization and on‑premises consolidation.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain SOPs and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Data Center Services, Networking, Windows Admins, Security/SOC, PMO, DBAs, and application owners.
Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Occasionally work onsite in datacenters and lift equipment (25–40 lbs).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of Linux administration experience.
- Hands‑on experience with:
- VMware
- OCI/OCVS
- Container platforms
- Automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
- Strong knowledge of Linux, IAM, and documentation practices.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain operational discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience contributing to large-scale modernization or migration efforts.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud performance, resilience, and cost optimization challenges.
- Understanding of financial impacts related to platform reliability, uptime, licensing efficiency, and risk mitigation.
