IT Lead Architect - Fraud
The Fraud Architect Lead is responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide fraud detection and prevention systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic vision to protect the organization from financial crimes, cyber threats, and identity fraud. The architect will lead the integration of fraud risk engines, develop scalable solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and resilience.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Designs and develops fraud detection architectures using advanced analytics, machine learning, and rule-based engines. Creates conceptual and logical architecture for fraud data flows, alert/case management, and dispute resolution systems.
- Aligns fraud architecture with cybersecurity and enterprise IT strategies.
- Leads integration of fraud risk engines (e.g., Feedzai, FICO, SAS, Quantexa) with transaction systems and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Implements real-time fraud detection pipelines using tools like Kafka, AWS Kinesis, and SageMaker. Evaluates and recommends vendor products and technologies to meet evolving fraud prevention needs.
- Conducts vulnerability assessments, fraud risk analysis, and security testing.
- Ensures compliance with state, federal, and industry regulations (e.g., AML, KYC, PCI-DSS). Supports audits and regulatory reviews related to fraud controls.
- Serves as SME for fraud prevention across internal teams and external partners.
- Leads workshops, training sessions, and onboarding for fraud-related initiatives.
- Presents architectural strategies and roadmaps to executive leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in IT Architecture
- Knowledge and understanding of fraud detection and prevention systems and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in IT Architecture
- Experience leading the strategy for fraud detection architecture
Educational Requirements
- University (Degree) Preferred
