The Senior IT Engineer manages IT assets, supports technical troubleshooting, coordinates cross-functional tasks, and ensures project delivery on time.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior IT Engineer to join our IT and Security team. This role is ideal for candidates who seek a mix of technical IT/security work and project management responsibilities.
You will be responsible for managing IT assets, coordinating cross-functional tasks, and supporting technical troubleshooting while ensuring IT/security projects are executed on time. This is a fully remote role, requiring availability to work primarily on PST hours, with some flexibility to support EST hours as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and manage inventory of all company IT assets (laptops, peripherals, and other hardware).
- Manage the lifecycle of company assets including procurement, configuration, delivery, repair, and decommissioning.
- Coordinate with HR, Security, and other teams to support onboarding, maintenance (permissioning, troubleshooting, testing), offboarding, and other IT/security-related workflows.
- Responsible for maintaining the strict confidentiality and security of sensitive company and client data hosted on managed servers and cloud platforms. This involves establishing and auditing user access permissions, configuring role-based access control (RBAC), and promptly responding to security incidents involving potential data exposure or unauthorized access.
- Expert knowledge of Google Workspace, 1password, Slack and VPN (Implementation/Operations)
- Provide first-line support for IT troubleshooting (hardware & software), including primarily Apple environments with some Windows environments.
- Assist with IT/security-related projects, ensuring tasks are tracked, updated, and delivered on time.
- Assist with documentation of IT processes and procedures for compliance and security purposes.
- Managing user accounts on different platforms such as account creation, passwords reset, etc.
- Experience implementing/managing SSO
- Work with Security and Infrastructure team to develop and execute a plan to scale SSO
- Utilize basic coding/scripting skills to automate repetitive IT tasks or support integration
- Apply AWS knowledge for cloud environment tasks or support
- Nice to have - On prem networking - servers, internet (wifi, fiber,) / ubiquity, security cams
- 4+ years of hands-on IT experience in fast-growth environments
- Has personally supported 150+ users as primary or solo IT resource
- Experience building IT function from scratch or early stage
- Proven track record of scaling IT operations (doubling headcount within 2 years)
- Mac-first environment expertise (deployment, MDM, troubleshooting at scale)
- Google Workspace administration (user lifecycle, groups, security policies)
- Atlassian administration (Jira, Confluence, etc)
- Identity & Access Management - Has implemented SSO/SAML (Okta, OneLogin, or similar)
- Scripting proficiency in at least one: Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Cloud infrastructure literacy (AWS console navigation, IAM basics, cost awareness)
- Built and documented IT processes from zero (onboarding, offboarding, asset management)
- Experience with IT ticketing systems and SLA management
- Asset lifecycle management at scale (procurement, deployment, refresh cycles)
- Remote workforce support experience (shipping, returns, troubleshooting)
- EDR deployment and management (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar)
- Understanding of security frameworks
- Device compliance and policy enforcement via MDM
- Incident response experience
- Self-starter - Comfortable with ambiguity and building structure
- Credibility builder - Can influence without authority, earn trust quickly
- Pragmatic - Knows when "good enough" beats perfect
- Communicator - Can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Salary: Starting at $110,000 - $140,000 DOE
