We need someone with both the technical expertise to design and implement solutions and the leadership skills to manage and guide outsourced delivery resources.

As the primary solution architect and delivery manager for Finance and Procurement systems, this role plays a critical part in ensuring that our IT solutions effectively support finance, procurement, and tax functions. You will work hands-on to create high-quality solutions, while also collaborating closely with outsourced partners to drive delivery excellence. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance and technology, delivering systems that empower our business in a global, multi-channel environment.

Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Oversee outsourced delivery teams for finance and procurement systems, focusing on execution, milestones, and effective issue and risk management.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders across finance, procurement, and tax to understand requirements, prioritize needs, and deliver solutions that align with organizational goals.

  • Foster a collaborative culture within the team and with external partners, providing mentorship and technical direction as needed.

  • Prioritize work, track key metrics, and report accomplishments to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Drive operational excellence by managing external vendors, ensuring adherence to best practices, and fostering high-quality deliverables.

  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to ensure that our solutions align with corporate standards and best practices.

Hands-on Solution Delivery:

  • Design and deliver solutions across SAP FICO, SAP Ariba, and Vertex, meeting the specific needs of our finance, procurement, and tax functions.

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for Finance and G&A systems, providing technical and functional guidance on SAP and Vertex solutions.

  • Manage configuration, testing, and deployment of finance, tax, and procurement systems with a focus on quality and alignment to business requirements.

  • Work directly with outsourced delivery partners to govern delivery standards, ensuring quality, consistency, and documentation.

Governance and Process Improvement:

  • Develop and enforce delivery standards, templates, and documentation requirements for our Finance and G&A systems, enhancing quality and control.

  • Streamline processes for finance, procurement, and tax teams by implementing effective, scalable solutions and enabling smoother system operations.

  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities across the solution landscape, making recommendations to drive efficiencies and system optimization.

Required Competencies:

  • Business Acumen: Deep understanding of finance, tax, and procurement processes, with an ability to discuss and solve business challenges.

  • Leadership & Influence: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a record of delivering measurable results and successfully managing external vendors.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong grasp of SAP FICO, SAP Ariba, and Vertex, with a deep understanding of their capabilities and business value.

  • Complexity Management: Skillful at handling competing priorities and navigating cross-functional environments.

  • Communication: Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, with an ability to build rapport and influence across diverse teams and levels of expertise.

  • Change Management: Demonstrated experience driving change and managing adoption across technology solutions.

  • Operational Excellence: Track record of accountability, delivering quality results, and effectively managing external delivery teams.

Experience Requirements:

  • Finance Systems: 7+ years working with SAP FICO, including extensive knowledge of financial accounting and controlling processes.

  • Procurement Systems: 5+ years of SAP Ariba experience, especially in indirect procurement processes, configuration, and integration.

  • Tax Systems: 5+ years using Vertex or similar tax automation tools, including multi-jurisdiction tax configuration and reporting.

  • Outsourced Delivery Management: Proven experience managing third-party vendors and partners, ensuring quality, accountability, and alignment with project goals.

  • Solution Design: Practical experience with systems configuration and solution design within large-scale, global companies.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Success working with stakeholders across finance, tax, procurement, IT, and outsourced partners.

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Business or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications in SAP (FICO, Ariba) or Vertex are a plus.
