We are seeking a motivated Rural IP and Optical Sales Director with a customer-centric focus to join our expanding Sales team. In this position, you'll utilize both a proactive, hunter mentality and a collaborative sales approach to ensure customer satisfaction while expanding our market presence in the rural market.

JOB PROFILE SUMMARY: Rural IP and Optical Sales Director responsible for:

  • Exceeding assigned sales quotas and goals with customers located within the Central or West USA.
  • Prospecting and developing business relationships with all levels of the customer base.  
  • Partner with sales engineering and regional sales directors on IP and Optical assigned regions to ensure RFP responses are optimized to meet customer’s needs
  • Developing strong lines of communication with all levels of a customer’s management team to coordinate Ribbon resources into customer engagements

COMPLEXITY/CONTRIBUTION: Technical specialist on complex technical and business matters. Will champion significant projects, programs and business initiatives using creativity and ingenuity.

INDEPENDENCE: As a regional IP Optical sales director, you are the leader for a volume of broadband and network opportunities through knowledge in his/her area of specialization. Generally free to determine work priorities based on general direction from management.

  • IP and Optical technical acumen is required.
  • Specialist in technical and business skills.
  • Individuals with a customer focus with intent to cultivate and develop lasting customer relations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This leader will have responsibility for a multi-million-dollar region managing and selling to Ribbon’s most strategic rural customers.  Ribbon’s solutions are at the core of our customer’s networks and are critical to effectively running their business.  This is a key position inside an inspiring company with double-digit growth objectives and a solid portfolio positioned for success.  With a well-executed plan, we will establish a thought leadership agenda for Ribbon to nurture our current installed base while driving closure to new customer opportunities in-region.

Responsibilities:
•    Develop and execute IP and Optical sales strategy for rural customers located in region while representing the value proposition across the complete Ribbon portfolio, with heavy emphasis on IP and Optical technology.

•    Find new and creative ways to drive business and position Ribbon for long-term success and as a strategic vendor in each account.  

•    Work closely with the sales engineering team, external engineering firms, management, and other Ribbon resources to develop the most compelling offerings.

Required Skills:
•    5+ year’s sales experience and relationships in the Central or West US Region
•    Knowledge and selling experience into IP and Optical environments and solutions are required. 
•    Ability to establish key relationships and sell at the executive level within an organization (internally and externally).    
•    Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with the drive to succeed.
•    Experience in prospecting with a high percentage of new account closure rate.
•    Ability to collaborate with engineering and architect teams to generate the optimal solution to solve your customer’s needs.
•    Excellent presentation, communications, and interpersonal skills.
•    Consultative and solution selling techniques, excellent business acumen, and technically astute.
•    Enjoy finding creative solutions to complex issues.
•    Demonstrated ability to drive a sense of urgency throughout the organization and to follow through on important initiatives to completion.
•    Demonstrated track record of exceeding measurable sales objectives in a highly complex and competitive environment.
Travel
•    Travel 50%
