Who we’re looking for

Fieldwire is looking for an experienced iOS engineer to join our team of talented iOS engineers. Our iOS app is built native (originally in Obj-C, but all new development in Swift) from the ground up to maximize performance and work in any customer environment, online or offline. We believe that native apps should make the most out of their platform and embrace iOS at its core, from adhering to Apple Design guidelines to using new iOS features.

The iOS team at Fieldwire builds the highest rated construction app on the App Store. Our engineering teams are multi-functional, co-located with product and design. Fieldwire’s mobile apps are mission critical for the construction teams that use Fieldwire every day to save time and money on the jobsite. 

What you’ll be doing

A day in the life of an iOS Engineer will find you working on complex problems and frequently solving these types of problems:  

  • Building the fastest mobile plan viewer by displaying 4M pixel images using progressive tiling
  • Maintain consistent app performance and user experience while supporting $1B+ construction megaprojects
  • Never losing a single byte of our customer’s data by making sure the app works in every situation

The primary responsibilities for our next iOS Engineer will be to:

  • Design, build, and maintain our iOS app in Obj-C and Swift
  • Work with design and product teams to build high impact features
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest and greatest in iOS development
  • Mentor Junior engineers on best practices
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

At Fieldwire, we’re looking for our next iOS Engineer to have the following skills and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years production iOS app experience
  • Expert in modern iOS development
  • Expert at writing clean, well-tested, and modular code in Swift
  • Expert understanding of algorithms and data structures

And if you have any of the following, we REALLY want you to apply today!

  • Experience with Core Data, Obj-C, and XCTest Framework
  • Knowledge of iOS design patterns like MVVM and VIPER
  • Experience with advanced debugging tools for memory and performance issues

Compensation

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows: $145,000 - $170,000

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors such as your skills, qualifications and experience. In addition to the salary, you may be eligible for a corporate bonus which can range up to 20%.

Where is the job located?

This role is fully remote within the US. Our office is centrally located right off of Embarcadero Bart station. Easily accessible by all forms of public transportation.
