JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Investor Relations to lead the Investor Relations strategy and execution for Driven Brands. This role will be responsible for drafting communications material to the investment community in preparation for quarterly earnings calls and investor conferences, planning for and participating in investor meetings with the executive leadership team, analyzing and monitoring peer group/industry trends, maintaining consensus estimates, and performing ad-hoc analysis.
We are looking for an individual that can develop effective communications that articulate both the company’s financial performance as well as its strategic vision to external stakeholders, including sell-side analysts, existing and prospective shareholders and bondholders, ratings agencies and proxy advisory firms. This is a highly visible role that enables the individual to interact with senior leaders across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play an integral role in the development and execution of the Company’s strategic investor relations plan, including implementation of the key long-term strategies, objectives and initiatives
- Prepare material for quarterly earnings calls, including developing content for the press release, management scripts, and comprehensive Question & Answer documents that address key financial, business, and competitive topics
- Collaborate in the design and production of all externally facing IR-related material
- Interact and develop/maintain relationships with investors and sell side analysts, educating them on the company’s strategic initiatives, financial results and market dynamics
- Actively monitor and analyze peer announcements, financial performance, and macroeconomic landscape to ascertain competitive trends, financial results, and latest developments within the automotive aftermarket industry
- Create and maintain a comprehensive management reporting dashboard with updated consensus estimates, stock ratings, valuation metrics, total stockholder returns, share price performance, and other relevant key financial indicators for the company and its peers
- Track institutional ownership and help develop a target list of shareholders for proactive investor outreach; coordinate and conduct outreach with various company stakeholders
- Organize and coordinate logistics for company and sell-side hosted events including meetings, site visits, conference calls, non-deal road shows, conferences, and/or Analyst days
- Maintain the Investor Relations portion of the corporate website in coordination with external vendors, ensuring that all disclosures, presentations, and company information is accurate and current
- Prepare material for Board of Director’s meetings, including analysis of stock price performance, sell side views, and other relevant competitive benchmarking analysis
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis for the executive leadership team and/or Board of Directors
- Collaborate with internal legal and sustainability teams to develop and maintain messages and influence the sustainability strategy based on investor priorities
- Develop messages, disclosures, and all collateral related to on environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters for the investor community
- Assist in the development and presentation of key financial and operational trends and strategies to the ratings agencies
- Maintain relationships with vendors to plan and facilitate annual stockholder meeting
Qualifications:
- Suggested work experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in areas such as investor relations, investment banking, or equity/credit research
- Proven track record of balancing projects and priorities and multi-tasking within a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills, both written and verbal; places a premium on attention to detail
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate across brand teams and various geographies
- Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze and articulate financial data
- Robust understanding of finance, financial modeling, and capital markets, with basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Broad knowledge of public company rules and regulations and proven experience working with Wall Street
- High proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- FactSet experience preferred, but not required
- Industry experience: consumer brand, franchise and/or automotive experience helpful but not necessary
- Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; CFA, MBA, or CPA a plus.
