Vanguard’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is seeking a talented Communications Strategist to join our dynamic communications team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in shaping our internal communication landscape, ensuring that our messages resonate with all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provides consultation to develop internal communications solutions that drive identified outcomes.
- Advises and consults with the General Counsel on messaging and communications strategies. Pitches new ideas. Finds creative ways to tell OGC’s story and communicate the value OGC adds to Vanguard and our clients.
- Creates effective, compelling divisional and enterprise communications content based on deep understanding of target audience and the broader operating environment.
- Translates business strategies and initiatives into messaging and content. Prioritizes communications and messages to maximize impact on target audiences and business outcomes.
- Creates effective and compelling internal communications content based on deep understanding of target audience and the broader operating environment.
- Drives the execution of all phases of the internal communications process, including conception, implementation, and measurement. Leads day-to-day internal communication activities.
- Resolves conflicts over content or internal communication channel recommendations by acting as a trusted advisor to influence, coach, and negotiate with stakeholders.
- Improves end-to-end communication processes by applying current and evolving industry standards, while complying with Vanguard brand. Proactively sources news and stories for broader application.
- Leads large projects (e.g., communication campaigns and events) and provides creative direction and guidance on messaging.
- Serves as mentor to less experienced writers by providing specific feedback on their copy, story ideas, and new media formatting.
- Develops and strengthens working relationships with key influencers across the organization and in the industry to support communications and business objectives.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Five years related work experience, three years consulting and delivering internal communications experience preferred.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
- Experience with User Experience, Communication Strategy Development, Visual Branding, Podcasts.
- Design expertise- Adobe Creative Suite desired.
- Legal & regulatory background helpful.
