Integration Developer (Rhapsody / .NET)
Job SummaryNext Generation, Inc., an Equal-Opportunity Employer, is seeking an experienced Integration Developer to support and maintain existing Rhapsody and .NET-based applications, troubleshoot and automate workflows, and contribute to a modernization initiative for legacy systems. This role is critical for managing public health data exchange processes and ensuring reliable integration between external organizations, DPH, and CDC systems. This role can be done remotely, with possible on-site visits to the Chicago area.
Job Responsibilities- Support and troubleshoot existing .NET applications and Windows-based infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools using PowerShell and SQL.
- Assist in planning and guiding modernization efforts for legacy systems and data integration.
- Evaluate and recommend modern technologies and tools for disease surveillance and data infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess architecture and recommend improvements.
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to internal staff.
- Manage and optimize data exchange processes between external organizations, DPH, and CDC.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot interfaces using the Rhapsody Integration Engine.
- Maintain and enhance HL7 message routing, transformations, and mappings.
- Troubleshoot and maintain the NEDSS Base System (NBS).
- Implement upgrades and new functionality/modules.
- Maintain ancillary systems such as NBS Utilities and the ELR data store.
Job Requirements
- Extensive experience with Rhapsody Integration Engine (interface development, message transformation, troubleshooting).
- Strong SQL development and troubleshooting skills
- Bachelors Degree in IT and/or strong related IT experience, including requirements analysis and programming
- Familiarity with Oracle PL/SQL.
- Proficient in C# and .NET Framework.
- Windows Server administration and IIS configuration.
- PowerShell scripting for automation and maintenance.
- Ability to contribute to planning and architectural discussions for system modernization.
- Experience evaluating and recommending modern technologies and tools for data systems.
- Ability to support public health data exchange systems and workflows.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with HL7 or FHIR standards.
- Experience using TFS (Team Foundation Server).
- Knowledge of NBS/NEDSS systems and workflows.
- Experience with SMTP and SFTP protocols.
- Understanding of public health messaging vocabularies and clinical coding systems (LOINC, SNOMED, ICD-10-CM).
