The Insurance Analyst manages insurance renewals, ensures compliance with lender requirements, assists with audits, and analyzes insurance risks while maintaining data integrity.
Summary:
The Insurance Analyst is a critical role responsible for monitoring and managing the insurance renewals, assisting with internal and lender insurance audits and ensuring compliant, exception report, assisting with internal vendor insurance audits, ensuring the integrity and adequacy of insurance coverage for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, and CMBS loans.
Major Responsibilities:
- The Insurance Analyst must be diligent in addressing exceptions and managing expiration lists to ensure continuous and adequate insurance coverage effectively.
- Ensuring the accuracy of data is crucial for compliance and maintaining the integrity of the insurance coverage for accuracy and integrity of internal and external data, including mortgagee clauses, lender requirements, insurable values, and other relevant information.
- The role involves assisting with various audits, which requires a deep understanding of insurance policies and compliance standards.
- Manage a designated portfolio which may consists of multiple lenders by gathering documentation, reviewing the insurance, proposes solutions and identifies the risk involved.
- Function as an insurance subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to servicing, production, and senior management as needed.
- Ability to identify and analyze insurance risk.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, coordinate, and communicate effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Work effectively with Asset Managers, Closers, and Escrow Managers to maintain the integrity of insurance coverage for the portfolio.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years of experience for commercial real estate insurance.
- Relevant experience in commercial mortgage and loan servicing preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance and commercial mortgage terminology.
- Experience with commercial insurance with emphasis on lender requirements is a plus with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD and CMBS lenders.
Education:
- High school diploma.
- Undergraduate business degree preferred.
- Current insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, CISR, CIC, AIS, CRM) is a plus.
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel, Word programs and Outlook.
