Role Overview

PulseLearning is seeking a Instructional Designer with strong storytelling expertise to join our on-demand talent network.

In this role, you will design engaging, narrative-driven learning experiences that transform complex content into compelling and memorable learning journeys. You will combine instructional design best practices with creative writing techniques to craft immersive learning solutions that inspire behavioral change.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in creative environments, enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams, and excels at turning ideas into engaging learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Design & Learning Development

  • Design and develop custom learning solutions that align with client objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Apply instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create effective learning experiences.
  • Develop eLearning modules, blended learning programs, assessments, job aids, and instructor-led training materials.
  • Structure learning journeys that are engaging, interactive, and aligned with behavioral change goals.

Creative Writing & Storytelling

  • Develop compelling scripts and narratives for eLearning modules, videos, and interactive learning experiences.
  • Use storytelling techniques to make complex concepts engaging and relatable for learners.
  • Create scenario-based learning, branching stories, and immersive learner experiences.
  • Craft clear, engaging content that enhances knowledge retention and learner engagement.

Collaboration & Project Delivery

  • Partner with subject matter experts, project managers, and client stakeholders to gather requirements and define learning strategies.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, multimedia developers, and animators to produce visually engaging learning content.
  • Participate in design discussions and contribute creative ideas to enhance learning solutions.
  • Ensure content aligns with brand standards, instructional goals, and client expectations.

Research & Innovation

  • Conduct content analysis to ensure instructional effectiveness and accuracy.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in instructional design, learning technology, and digital learning experiences.
  • Explore innovative approaches to storytelling, immersive learning, and multimedia learning solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in instructional design and eLearning development.
  • Strong expertise in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop narrative-driven learning experiences.
  • Exceptional creative writing and storytelling skills.
  • Experience writing scripts for video, animation, simulations, and scenario-based learning.
  • Strong ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging learning content.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in remote environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, global team environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with global clients or consulting environments.
  • Familiarity with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, or similar tools.
  • Experience designing scenario-based and immersive learning experiences.
  • Exposure to behavioral change or performance-based learning design.

Hours: 0-15
